All I know is my title, it's all it says on my contract, the reason why I don't have more information because I was offered a higher paying role after my interview.

I'd just keep it simple and put technical personally.

I would go with retail or technical
If your front line in contact with customers I would say retail
If your backroom I would say technical
That would be how I would see a company classing it but all are diff.
TBH I cant see any issue leaving it blank and just putting a note to say you were unsure can HR pleae complete and just advise you so that you know for next time.

When I worked for a bank the "Function" was used in place of a Business Unit such as Finance/Operations/etc...
