No not zero hour. 16 hour contract, but I usually do far more every week.

OK but are you doing at least 16 hours next week with this change?
Then they are not breaching your contract, nor asking you to do something unreasonable, Legally sound.
So even with the change you are still working 16 hours, so I assume the two hours (6-10 instead of 6-12) would have been overtime?
As long as you get your contracted hours I don't think you can do anything.
On average I work the mid 35 hours a week, but sometimes high 40's (and I do another job 12.5 hours a week)
