I hate sickness heroes. If you are sick, you are sick. I lead a very healthy life yet have kids who bring illness home from school, plus all of the sickness hereos at my place come in with their germs so inevitably I get sick a few times per year. My colleague the other day was signed off with shingles for 2 weeks advised, 1 week minimum, and he came in after 2 days off. I mean...what the heck? It's not appreciated by anyone so why bother. You won't win an award for it. When you are ill you need rest.
3 times and you get disciplinary some people are saying is normal in this thread. Talk about out of touch with reality. Why be punished for being sick?
It's true that a lot of people get sick when they take holiday. The reason I read in a recent article is that we all lead such busy lifestyles that we are literally too busy to be sick often. i.e. Our bodies won't allow it. When we relax and slow down on holiday, and the routine changes, we sometimes get sick.
