World Athletics Championships (Potential Spoilers)

Well how "detectable" depends on how competent the drug testing agency is lol....for instance if you compare Jamaica's JADCO with British anti-doping stringency...they are not even in the same ballpark. Its all lolworthy tbh.

What is banned in one country is given exception in another.... The whole thing is a sham.. surprised some of you guys still believe in it.

Is athletics not subject to WADA?

Don't think it's about bolt not winning, it's more about gatlin winning. The significance of the race just adds more of a spotlight to it. Old time great narrowly losing to up and comer is a story everyone can accept. Him losing to a cheat 4 years older than him? That just doesn't sit right.
mate he lost to Colemen too. What's your excuse? He on drugs too?

Did you even read what i typed? No one cares that he got beat by Colemen twice. A seriously quick 21 year old newcomer beating a 31 year old retiring legend is no shock story and frankly no great surprise. Comparing him to a 35 year old 2 time doper who breaks all trends and runs faster in his 30's than his 20's is just dumb.

Food for thought on gatlin

And that's 2 years old

Nope. My point is he got beat by two people but the way some have reacted you would have thought bolt came 2nd

- if you mean boo - what is the demographic of people at an Athletic meet that would boo ? (people still there who payed a premium yesterday to see/record a Bolt moment ?)

relevant article
Steroids can benefit athletes for a decade after use
still do not understand Farah's mentality to keep on Alberto Salazar, if the investiagtion finds against salazar his 'legacy' will be tainted ?

Yes but individual national anti doping bodies do not all enforce the rules the same (nor have the means) of wada.
e.G wasn't that long ago the entire jadco committee were all sacked...for basically incompetence. Have a Google you may be surprised..disheartened and disappointed.

Have you guys read up on what Gatlin was "done" for? Its laughable, and does not stretch to cheating at all. Victim of the system, and media hype.

How many of the people shouting him down have actually read the circumstances of the cases? You might change your mind if you do!

I know i did.

No, I think most people would consider getting caught for using Testosterone a valid reason for a ban. In fact, he accepted an 8 year ban without complaint rather than face a lifetime ban and he was being trained by a coach who is now known for training doped athletes.

He deserved everything he got and nothing since.

Frankly booing one athlete while cheering another is ridiculous. In my opinion you have to be mad to believe that clean athletes can beat known dopers. Might as well just enjoy the show and accept it for what it is.

Have a little read of this
interesting piece, perhaps they could have said more about possibility/benefit/detectability of long term testosterone micro-dosing
coincidentally (but maybe testosterone is best weapon) Salazar investiagtion seemed to be mostly initiated by the BBC and accusation included topical application of testosterone
David Epstein, the lead reporter on the piece, interviewed 17 people who at some point were Oregon Project athletes and staffers, including celebrated American distance runner Kara Goucher. Former Oregon Project assistant coach Steve Magness alleged that Salazar had experimented with testosterone by having his adult sons apply it to their skin to determine the threshold for a positive test, apparently to determine if it would be possible for a rival to sabotage Salazar’s athletes, a motive Magness found ‘ludicrous,' and that a notation in a journal indicated that Galen Rupp, one of the team members, was using testosterone.

R5 had some discussion on the booing and suggested it was not as extensive as the bbc recordings portrayed (so just good positioning of their microphones)

If Coe was capable of commenting on Gatlin, maybe he can comment on other issues closer to home (but he seems to be BBC golden boy again)
