World Cup 2010 - 3rd Place (Saturday 10th July 2010) **spoilers**

you have to be a very good side to get into the semi finals so yeah, i reckon goals should count,because you could have just been beat by the eventual champions and could have maybe got to the final had you played someone else

Yeh sure go ahead...but majority of people dont give a toss about who won 3rd place or 4th place.

And how can you be certain that the final will be boring??...still miffed that Germany got beat by the Spanish??.

Yeh i dont get the Spanish hate as well...they have been the best footballing side in the WC this yr...if they werent then they wouldnt be in the final would they??...along with the Dutch too.

And no i dont hate Germany...id just rather see Uruguay beat them:).

$18 million – Fourth placed team
$20 million – Third placed team
$24 million – Runner up
$30 million – Winner

:eek: didnt realise that much money was at stake.

But what im trying to say is that most people wouldnt know who won 3rd or 4th place...i mean i can remember who won 3rd or 4th place in 2006 without checking....the only team people will remember are the winners and the losers of the final.

What Spanish hate? I've just found all the games Spain have played pretty boring (all ending 1-0 or 0-0 I believe, with the exception of one), I don't see many goals being scored in the final and can easily see it being 0-0 until extra time and penalties.

Germany vs Holland would have been a big deal (big rivalry) and a great final.

It was Turkey (3rd) and South Korea(4th) in 2002. Suker scored within 11 seconds.

Surely you have something much more entertaining to do with 2 hours then instead of watching what you are certain will be a boring match. I mean if I was absolutely sure that 2 hours of something was going to be boring I would avoid it, common sense I would think.

Well yes i suppose for the players and their respective football federations it means something to them.

None of Spains games have been a draw, shows how much you know:p...they lost their first game against the Swiss then went on to beat the other 2 teams in their group...

It may well be 0-0 after 90 mins but we cant say for sure....i mean Spain didnt let Germans get a whiff of goal but still ended up scoring one against them...i dont find them boring, i find spain fascinating when they have the ball...they dont hoof the ball up like England do but rather work the defence so opening get created.

Plus i loathe the Dutch especially Van Bommel and Robben who are both cheating little ****s

:D cheers....like i said i dont remember them...all i remember is Italy and France.
 
Spain have scored 7 goals so far this tournament and 5 of them being by Villa.
Germany have scored 14 goals so far with a bunch of players getting goals in.
Holland have scored 13 goals so far.

Spain get the wins but their games have been pretty boring to watch.
