I didn't think France would qualify for the knockout stages but after seeing Mexico's performance today it's hard to imagine them not doing.

How are players supposed to communicate and organise themselves with the stupid horns blowing constantly? surely FIFA must recognise the noise must have a detrimental effect on performance?

I think South Africa should be pleased with that, can't see them progressing though.

Good result for SA...not such a good result for Mexicants:p.

Looking forward to tonights game...hopefully Uruguay will beat France...put some money on them to beat France.

Thought Mexico were rubbish, mostly in central midfield, two players completely unwilling to take on a difficult(or even simple) forward pass and constantly elected to turn and pass backwards. Mexico didn't attack with pace even though its their main strength and stupidly put in Blanco and Franco(who I rate) rather than focus on their strengths. Hernadez, Vela and Santos is a lot of pace if they start together for a good attack though it would require some of those players deciding to pass forwards to those 3.

Santos also, one great shot though he got there by for the umpteenth time making the wrong decision and lucky it bounced back to him, other than that, runs well with the ball he's a good dribler, uses his strength to keep going, but he passes WAY to late EVERY SINGLE TIME. He's a ball hog basically and you'll probably see thats why he's bouncing from one club to another, looks useful, has potential but never makes the right decision. At least he can actually run with the ball through players, he's Walcott but doesn't fall over everytime someone goes near him.

If Mexico get back to attacking with pace and I think if Vela picks up some fitness/form they could get a lot better. Vela did a couple truly brilliant passes, the chip for Franco was outstanding, his ability all over is amazing and he created a few chances for others, but he looks a bit shot shy and thats what will happen when you barely play a game for two years. He got very little of the ball though and even less of it in behind or running at the fullback, because those midfielders will not pass forwards.

Largely agree with that. He's not bouncing from one club to another though. He was just out on loan.

He seems to think he's better than he is.

I started the stream on the BBC website before 7 and ive just got footage with ambient sound and can hear Lawro chatting to somebody about random things, tis quite amusing! :D
