This is yet another reason why I can't understand the madness that is Bayern demanding 60mil+ last season for Ribery. Absolutely hopeless today, thinks he's better than he is, as do many people. He is better than he showed today, but last season high goal scoring was a one off, he's okay, nothing more than that. Malouda was completely useless when he came on , Gouvou was awful, Diaby and Sanga had 5 good minutes in the first half but were headless chickens for the rest. Anelka got entirely no service at all, Gourcouf or whatever his name is, well, shot from every freekick no matter the distance with only one decent attempt amongst them.
Honestly I see the French squad, theres some decent players on there, a HUGE amount of massively over rated players and a manager thats utterly crap who can't get the best out of anyone no matter how good that player actually is.
We've seen well, 2-3 sides already trying to play this daft 4-3-3 system and finding their striker completely and utterly isolated with the system not working in the slightest. Santos, Vela, Franco, Henry/Ginac/Ribery, Anelka/Gouvou/Ribery , it just doesn't work. We've also seen teams sit deep and defend in numbers with little space in behind. Mexico were crying out for 2 fast strikers dragging the South African defenders about and two wingers getting the ball up the field fast. France required the same thing, 4-3-3 works for 2-3 teams in the world, and thats in the past decade. Chelsea are a 4-4-2 again and working better for it.
4-3-3 breeds this truly woeful, unable to break down or even create chances type games where a lone striker simply can't get any posession at all.
Teams with the large enough gonads to play an offensive 4-4-2 and really pull around defenses will do very well me thinks.
It was laughable playing a truly decent Ginac as a winger towards the end of that game, pathetic would be another good word, Diomenche is a complete douchebag, how he's kept the job this long I will never know.
