World Cup 2010 - GROUP G (Brazil, North Korea, Ivory Coast, Portugal) **spoilers**

I dont dispute that the 2nd goal was handball - or even double handball, but even though Brazil's forwards didnt seem to be trying that hard for 1/2 the match Fabiano's first (from the angle if nothing else) and Elano's goal's were terrific, and Ivory Coast werent getting anywhere near to actually challanging Cesar (I know they eventually scored but Drogba hardly got a decent touch in the area before that)

time for yellow cards for 'embelishment' i feel.

theres no way u need to roll around on the floor and then get up and carry on running like you are fine. it works in the nhl it can work in football too and cut out people trying to feign injury temporarily.

Thing is, I'm not entirely sure if Kaka did something in the random stuff that went on afterwards.

The guy diving holding his face was pathetic, but lets be honest a lot of Brazilians did it, even Lucio seemed to massively over react to almost nothing, writhing around in "pain" and fine 3 seconds later.

Likewise asides from the double handball for Fabiano's goal, he went down about 5 times in the game with little to no contact and did the "i'm dying help help" flapping about on the floor, just to sit up ask if its a card and go back to the flapping about. He got someone a yellow card doing this, and someone got Kaka a yellow for doing that, to be honest, not completely unfair.

The difference is Kaka had utterly stupidly gotten a first yellow for shoving a guy trying to stand up for entirely no reason whatsoever, he was just being a complete ****. He rather deserved it though that still doesn't excuse the guy pretending he got whacked in the face.

Overall Brazil "cheated" far far far more than Ivory Coast, neither teams came out of that game bathed in glory and both should be ashamed. Though its worth noting the nasty tackle(though seemingly accidental) on someone Drogba came over and had a go at his team mate that did it which was somewhat nice to see.

Overall okay game, though would have been nice to see how it went without Fabiano's second truly awful goal, which was followed, quite disgracefully by the ref joking with Fabiano about it being a handball, it was two clear as day handballs, how the linesman or ref didn't see either, but then to joke about it right there on the pitch is unbelievable, absolutely unbelievable.

Bad ref, bad Kaka, awful Keita, bad guy who tackled Elano, fairly poor Ivory Coast, not great Brazil, meh.

I agree about the ref and the level of dirtyness from both sides but I do think Brazil played quite well, not brilliantly but good enough and better then most teams to be a serious contender for the cup.

I don't think they were bad but, Melo conceded posession and fouled his way through the game, at one point he took a pass without an Ivory coast player within 15 yards, he was about 10 yards from the side line, he managed to move towards the line and play it out(though it wasn't given), he delayed, chased after a couple loose touches managed to keep the ball till he was under pressure then I think he played an awful ball back to the keeper that almost conceded a goal as it was incredibly close to being intercepted, this was without a single sign of pressure when he got the ball.

He's slow to think, can't pass, fouls, and concedes the ball and is always out of position, he was at fault for the goal as Drogba came from deep, he followed his run, Drogba slowed, Melo stopped, Drogba stepped back a bit and then kept running and Melo ignored him till too late.

Kaka miscontrolled and put in a crap pass for 98% of the game, Elano wasn't involved till his goal, Lucio looked slightly less good, the ease with which Drogba turned him by dropping his shoulder was suspect, though to be fair, Drogba did fantastically with very little. Drogba should also have had at least another headed goal and one/two other incredibly good chances. Brazil made very little in terms of real chances except the 3 goals.

Against a far better team with a fit striker or two, melo, kaka, Elano will concede a lot of posession and other teams will make a lot more chances. Then again Brazil do normally get much better throughout a tourney, however, I think they really need to at this stage.

EDIT:- Also, why on earth does Maicon cry after every goal scored? I don't think I've ever seen that, world cup winning goal, a few tears at the end of a huge game, but crying after every goal against NK and Ivory Coast, seems really odd.

Was really looking forward to this but it's ruddy **** McCarthy again - haven't enough people complained yet for the Beeb to send him packing? Mute on.

One of them is going to go in soon if NK keep playing like this! Some very good football from them.

What's with European teams? After the tournament I reckon people will be talking about the big teams playing too many games.
