World Cup 2010 - Quarter-finals **spoilers**

I don't see the cheating here.

Cheating means he got away with it. He got caught, got sent off. Then Ghana had the chance to win it from the spot, nobody cheat Ghana out of that missed pen.

Everything from the handball on was by the rules. If the ref didn't see the handball and then Uruguay won the shootout then I would agree they have cheated.

Its not the same as maradonna scored the hand of god goal and he got away with it.

Spot on there 100%

Some of the posts in here make me very sad indeed.

How can some of you call yourselves sports fans if you would cheat to get the better of the opposition?

If you can't win fair and square then what is the point?

Because they want to see sports who can manipulate and cheat the best.

That was the most disgraceful bit of cheating I've ever seen in my life. Diving is one thing- he's intentional swatted the ball out with both his hands, in the final moment of the game. Irrespective of the rules of handball, he should be punished for cheating and made a example of that there has to be some integrity maintained within the game.

That's not sportsmanship- that's cheating and they should be ashamed.

do you know what cheating is?

cheating is when you do something thats not allowed in the rules and get away with it.

Precisely as some of you have said, nobody remembers the losers, winning is absolutely everything. I'm surprised any of you can say you wouldn't do the same thing if you were Suarez, such naivety.

Hey Michael Owen dived for his two penaltys he won against aregntina in 98 and 02.

None of the british media or people cared then

Of course I know what cheating is. Just because he got caught and sent off doesn't make it fair and square in my book. If he didn't cheat Ghana would be through. The worst bit was the celebration when Ghana missed.

Cheating and very poor sportsmanship and I hear the words legend and hero, seriously some of you need to get a grip.

As already pointed out he didn't cheat. He committed a foul and was subsequently punished. Had Ghana taken advantage then nothing would have been said - instead they didn't take advanatge and the inevitable vitriol will go Suarez's way.

With a name like Mensah, I'd have thought he'd be able to logically work out how to put the ball past the goalie.

Had he not handled, it was a definite goal. That's cheating in anyone's book.

The ball was heading towards the goal's direction, it was not a definite goal. It was not in when he handled it. The ball was at he same height as his face, you or anyone else for that matter can't say for certain it won't have hit his face and stayed out instead.

Ghana had the perfect chance to win it, they didn't.

It's a tad naive to judge everyone else on what you yourself would do.

It's not only that he handled the ball, it's the manner in which he celebrated that got me the most. It's supposed to be about fair play, good sportsmanship, good games, players to look up to, etc etc,.
