People cant seriously be complaining about the red card? Can you not remember 4 years ago? What goes around.....

That has nothing to do with the need for technology supporting the officials in football.

Especially after the masses of awful mistakes this World Cup has had.

Did Ronaldo spit at the camera just then? He looked right into the camera then spat slightly away from it almost in contempt.

I was thinking, could there be a curse on the player's who were on that stupid Nike -Write the future ad? Rooney, Ronaldo, Ribery, Drogba havent impressed and Ronaldinho didnt even make it...hmmm

Anyway, well done to the Spanish, they played well and on the balance of play probably deserved it but at times were lucky not to concede.

I made no mention of the need for technology in football, merely that after what happened four years ago there's little room for the portuguese to feel hard done by.

Everyone knows of the need to introduce technology to assist officials in football, well almost everyone (eh Mr Blatter!)

Looked like he moved an elbow towards him on the replay.
Very hard to tell from the angle shown.

Remember at incident, think it was in 94, when a Brazilian player dived for a penalty and there was hell up. It was blatant and the player should've been suspended but nothing happened to him. Wasn't until a few days/weeks later that a Danish? TV station showed there had been contact :o

Edit: Was nearly right :o

Really not convinced that was a foul by Costa, but it's hard to call when the only angle from which it apparently looks like a foul was shot from the moon.

The push on Ronaldo was clearly a foul, but hey ho.

What a fantastic result for Spain, they truly dominated the Portugese and deserve the win.

Was Ronaldo playing? Didn't see much of him until the end, his spit was good, gotta give him that.

I'd forgotten about that. £900 at 2.1 wasn't it :p

Nope didnt go stupid crazy today lol..although i should have...i just stuck £500 down at 2.1 odds....got £1050 back as profit...plus my £500 stake...make that £1550 so far...then add my remaining balance...cha ching ching...ive now made £2250 in about 2 weeks of betting...not bad and just as good as i did late time the WC was around:D...so thats my iphone4 paid for and might as well order an ipad as well for the hell of it...ill give the rest to my fiancee who can go on her shopping spree:p

Anyway phewwww glad thats over and done with...Spain look brilliant on the ball ie loads of possession but they lack that lethal touch...mind you having 10 portuguese players defending doesnt help either but like the Swiss game they almost came a cropper. Oh and LOLRonaldo:p:D...but i do feel for him because he wasnt getting anything from his players who just wanted to defend, defend and defend some more....but with 5mins left they decided to go for it lol:p

Anyhow i dont think Spain will win this...Torres is as bad as Rooney ie formwise...he just cant score any goals which is a shame really but against Brazil or a better side...they are going to struggle to get anything...they lack that killer touch as far as im concerned and they cant always rely on Villa to get them goals...imagine he has an off day lol...but he was simply immense today...should have had a few to his tally but was unlucky and the keeper for Portugal made some fine saves unlike Casillas who looked shaky.

LOL at the red card too....shouldnt raise your elbow so right decision as to me on the replays it seemed like he did catch capde villa...altho he did make a meal of it.

yes, the spanish are the better team ,they attacked more and had more oportunities to score

so their win is well deserved, but when they meet te Germans or the Brasilians they are going out:p

Looked like it, but think it was just he looked and spat. Doubt the camera was near him either, they can zoom, y'know :p

Haven't seen a 100% clear replay of that red, but if it's from what i've seen, thats disgraceful.

Based on the footage the BBC have, I don't think there's anyway to tell, as at the point at which the foul apparently occurred (Costa's left elbow to the right side of Capdevila's head) Capdevila is between the camera and Costa, so you can't see a thing.

It doesn't look like a foul to me, but without a reverse angle I don't think we'll ever know.

If you watch a replay, watch how Capdevila gets up once the whistle is blown, then when the referee reaches for his cards, he suddenly falls down in agony again :p

I do love a bit of controversy (Unless if it's against England  :p)
