World Cup Bets

i was just woundering if anyone has or is planning any bets on the world cup?

i fancy a bet on top goalscorer and might do some group betting,not sure who i am gonna have yet top scorer,been trying to work out who is in what group and who might go far in tournement,but then again a team might not be in tournement long but might score a few goals.I work in ladbrokes and i have had a few people betting on messi,but i havent really seen him score allot internationaly.
 
I'll wait and see how Blackpool do this weekend. It will more than likely determine how much I can bet on the World Cup. Normally will bet day to day, either doubles or trebles, to keep the interest in the less important games up. There can be quite a lot of easy money to be made from International tournaments. Either that or I've just got lucky in the past....unfortunately probably the latter.
 
Top goal scorer is usually very hard to predict. If a player can fluke a hattrick in one game then they can usually pick up the golden shoe.

I've got a bet on Brazil to win the tournament. Tempted to bet on North Korea getting through the group stages.
 
Yup, I said that I would put a bet on whoever I drew in the OCUK sweepstake. I drew Greece so I have put a £10 bet on Greece to win the world cup at 150/1 :D
 
I have a bizarre feeling Switzerland are going to do well, I'm tempted to have a fiver each-way at 200/1!

Some great bets from William Hill:

Italy vs New Zealand, both teams to score: YES 2/1, NO 4/11. Er, surely that's a no?

Brazil vs North Korea, both teams to score: YES 2/1, NO 4/11. Again, no.

England vs Algeria, both teams to score: YES 11/8, NO 8/15. No.

Decent treble there, there's loads to pick from that are very easy. Can you honestly see N.Korea, New Zealand and Algeria scoring against that lot?

Surely thats not going to really win much though, whats the return on a £10 treble for that? Something like £25?

Mind you, £10 for them to all be yes would be a couple of hundred quid, so thats tempting. You never know, especially with world cup football ! :)

Those were just a few examples. They have yes or no for all theg group games, and if it were me, I'd be having more than a tenner on ;)

Probably less than 2/1 for that particular bet.

take frances group out completely and do sixfolds

stop being greedy thats what makes gamblers lose.

make a sensible bet which you think will definitely win. france's manager is getting sacked soon anyway, they have no faith in him, they will lose because quite frankly he is terrible. stick it on another team in that group or just leave that group out. france have the talent but without a competent manager they will crumble, just like argentina

Well played so far!

I had Bayern at 14/1 to win it when they drew Man Utd

Ive also bet on a draw in 90 mins tonight.

Could be better so far......

lol - it was an obvious result and an obvious scorer. etoo playing on the right, pandev on the left. the only thing i had to worry about was sneijder or robben scoring.

i only every play the lottery win its a big jackpot, and i only ever go for lucky dips.

what i can recommend is that you do the 3 number hot picks and go for a lucky dip. you only need to get 3 numbers, but your only choosing 3, you win £450 or about that. my cousin has won that about 5 times now. when he does win it, he normally puts £30 worth on the next one and he won it 2 times in a row that way.

i wonder what the odds would be on brazil or spain to not lose a single game in the world cup.

i see them as being the top 2 and brazil winning it. but i would bet on them both just to be safe. i doubt a bookies would even give odds on that, they would need to ring head office and get a quote or something.
