World Cup Bets

Just a few small 8-fold bets so far, not decided what to do a larger bet on yet.

Group A Dual Forecast: Mexico/South Africa
Group B Dual Forecast: Argentina/South Korea
Group C Dual Forecast: England/USA
Group D Dual Forecast: Germany/Ghana
Group E Dual Forecast: Cameroon/Netherlands
Group F Dual Forecast: Italy/Paraguay
Group G Dual Forecast: Brazil/Ivory Coast
Group H Dual Forecast: Chile/Spain

I tell you what, that's not the worst bet I've ever seen!

Just another heads up about my RvP e/w top scorer tip. He scored 4 goals in 3 games last week and Holland look good, him especially! Holland will probably score a few and he's CF

I found one I thought wasn't a bad bet:

First Five Goal Game? - Any Other at 4/1 (Boylesports)

You can pick any game in the first 5 days, and Honduras vs Chile on the 6th day at odds of 10, 12, 14/1 etc to be the first game to have 5 goals in it.

That's 16 games that have to have 4 goals or less in them. Odds of under 4.5 goals in each game is (taking the best odds here) 1/25, 1/12, 1/20, 1/7, 1/10, 1/20, 1/20, 1/10, 1/12, 1/16, 1/20, 1/9, 1/14, 1/5, 1/12.

£10 on the accumulator on the above pays £33.73.
£10 on the Any Other (the exact same thing, effectively) pays £50. You're getting 50% better odds on it, provided there's a game in the tournament after the first 16 games with 5 goals or more in. If there isn't, you get your money back anyway.

Cracking bet if you ask me, only risky one is Brazil/N.Korea. :D

I don't really do betting, but I figure it'll make the World Cup all that more exciting.

I've just signed up to Betfair with £30 in my account (Getting £35 from Quidco anyway, and I'll get a free £25 bet once I've wagered my £30 :))

I like the idea of doing bets like Greywolf has done. What do people think of this for one of them?

8 Fold bet
1 South Africa v Mexico (Backing Mexico @ 2.61)
2 Uruguay v France (Backing France @ 2.11)
3 Argentina v Nigeria (Backing Argentina @ 1.48)
4 England v USA (Backing England @ 1.48)
5 Germany v Australia (Backing Germany @ 1.49)
6 Italy v Paraguay (Backing Italy @ 2.02)
7 Netherlands v Denmark (Backing Netherlands @ 1.55)
8 Brazil v North Korea (Backing Brazil @ 1.09)

Stake £2
Potential Win £124

france, argentina and england are the hardest picks their. thats stupid odds on italy, why not stick the full £30 on Italy you will get £60 back, its a safer bet

This is my accumlator for teams to qualify, left out group A as it is to tough to call.

USA, South Korea, Chili, Serbia, Paraquay, Ivory Coast, Denmark

Stake is £23 Return is something like £2400

Only bets i done so far are on on top scores via Ladbrokes £1 on each

Torres 12/1
C.Ronaldo 16/1
V.Persie 14/1

Uruguay v France – 90 MinutesDraw @ 3.10–£2.50
South Africa v Mexico – 90 MinutesMexico @ 2.50–£2.50

is it even worth putting these bets on or are you doing it just for fun? winning less than £10-15 in each case, the only one which looks likely is v persie getting top goalscorer too. france are awful and uruguay have an amazing up front, south africa are an uknown quantity but i dont rate them high enough to draw with mexico even on home soil. torres no matter how good he is has been over used by liverpool and played even when injured, causing further injuries, the boy needs to rest, i can see him getting badly injured in the world cup and ronaldo wont live up to the hype.

So? Not everyone has to make crazy bets to win £3,824,917 or back something for £100's to make it worthwhile. What would you rather do, bet £2.50 on 2 games with a potential return, albeit small, or waste £2.50 (which millions do, hence why bookies make £bn's profit) on a ridiculous bet that'll never come up?

Yes, these two are just for fun, so the game has a little meaning. Although I think France have been poor, I still fancy them for group winners. But if you look at my bets again, you will see I predict a france vs uraguay draw and infact predicted Mexico to beat South Africa.

Also I have like 6 accumulators on the go that will pay out big if they come through.
