World Cup Draw Thread *spoilers*

One thing I dont want to happen is us winning our group, Aussies getting second and us having to play them and get beat.

Not quite sure how England got such a stupidly easy group, only downside is spanking some no hoper side 6-0 and seeing the entire country go mad thinking they'll win it... again.

Looks like none of the African sides have an easy group, Ivory Coast and Ghana have the best chance, if Portugal keep playing like crap and Serbia aren't bad, they aren't great though.

I always forget which is which though, is it Uruguay or Paraguay who are pretty damn good and often cause a few upsets in that south american group against Brazil/Argentina?

They are there on merit, they did beat other teams and qualify? It's not like FIFA just picked 32 teams.

African teams didn't need to beat anyone to go through? :confused: what was the African qualifiing about? Asian qualifying?

They're all good teams, some better then others, but they all deserve to be there. No, Alegeria aren't as good as England, but England aren't as good as Spain or Brasil? Whats your point?

Teams can be good, without been as good as other teams?
 
England have to say should qualify past this group quite confortably. But u can never tell with how they decide to play sometimes
 
I think Ivory Coast might cause an upset. Wouldn't be surprised if portugal don't make it past the group stages.

Most bookies will just say, name your price!!

Portugal are in trouble there, Ivory coast can make it out of there with Brazil, Portugal aren't exactly playing well.

I like our group though, looks like we may get Serbia or Australia in the next round if we come top. France in the quarters looks likely and then Brazil or Spain in the semi.
 
OK I've done the maths. England win the group, meet Serbia in the 2nd round. France in the Quarter Finals followed by Brazil in the Semis and finally a victorious win against Spain in the Final.

Well I'm allowed to dream a bit aren't I. Reality is we draw 0-0 with the yanks, 1-1 with Algeria, beat Slovenia 1-0 and then lose to France in the 2nd round to a dubious Henry hand ball.

I don't know why England are so confident about beating the USA, they're a good side. They won something quite recently didn't they?

Algeria and Slovenia could cause an upset, but England should be able to beat them.

Of course Slovenia could cause an upset. So could all the teams. This isn't a Brazil - North Korea gulf.

The point is that there are much harder groups. Germany should win their group for example, but that doesn't mean they couldn't get beaten by the other 3 decent sides.
 
even though england havea great group and i hope they win...they will still mess it up like they always do...being beat by teams they shouldnt be beaten by and beating teams they shouldnt really be beatin..ie:Brazil(when its all to late)

USA are a good team, I'm of the opinion that no game will be easy in the World Cup, teams will all be well motivated and will up their game.

Nobody knows much about Noth Korea either.
 
Very tasty draw!! Not just because it's been kind to us, but I live in the States and married to a yank - so will make for a fun house hold! Can't see why both England and USA wont advance.
Hoping to come back to England for the later group games :D Just watching the draw today got me all fired up!

You could give 10-1 odds that the US will beat Spain in a rematch and I wouldn't take it.

No one is underestimating anyone. Similarly, no one (apart from you) is overestimating anyone either.

You asked why people are confident of beating USA. I'm pretty damn confident.

Ask Americans if they're confident of even getting a draw out of that game. If they don't expect a draw, we should expect a draw. Simple.
