Ah well, to be fair you'd take top of the group at the start, playing Ecuador in the next round.

Still, the defending tonight has been shocking.

Crap. We're through but I don't feel in the slightest bit confident after yet another crap performance. We've drawn with an aging Swedish side that didn't look interested in the first half and we also lost Owen. IMO, it also seemed like we didn't have a leader on the pitch. No one put their foot on the ball or lead by example. Where was Beckham?
 
Well I'm glad that's over.

Terrible, just terrible. Defence awful, midfield disjointed and attack ineffective. The one plus point was Joe Cole. Anyone who still thinks we have any sort of chance of winning this is wearing rose-tinted glasses so thick they probably can't see anything at all. :mad:
 
To be fair there was a possibility they could go out at the group stage if they had lost, probably why they were loving it.

if i was a swedish fan i wouldn't be celebrating much - they could have lost - drawing doesn't matter - they needed a win, they'll lose to germany it's a given.
 
The Defence (apart from Ferdinand) had a nightmare tonight, they better play better in the knock-out stages.

Joe Cole was our best player tonight.

Very worrying that Rio went off, Sol is a liability & Carragher can't cover at CB whilst Less Ugly is injured. It seems we only get injuries where we can't afford them:(
