World Cup Group F (Australia, Brazil, Croatia, Japan) **SPOILERS**

The little Japanese man was pushed by an aussie defender and by the time Schwarzer ran into him he was already too far under the ball to collect it...

The Aussie ran behind the Japanese player on the angles i saw it from, (the showed many angles of it down here) but never touched him.
And Schwarzer got hit in the side.

I though Guus was going to punch someone out :p

Well i have to be up in 3 hours so i guess i should go to bed now :o

Night all :)

France at Euro 2004 springs more to mind.

That was sickening, but self (well Gerrard) inflicted :(
The one i'm thinking of :- we were 1-0 down,a few minutes to go,Lineker is clean through on goal,a sitter for him, gets hacked down by left back -no foul/penalty given,no yellow card (he had already had one) ball is hoofed up to our goal, where we concede a freekick.Filthy foreigner left-back takes free kick into top corner,we lose 2-0 and are out.

Good call :)
Nothing like, I think you're just trying to wind the aussies here up now ;)

I realise the quality is poor but I don't have a better copy of it to hand unfortunately, but that still there shows the collision, no one pushed Fukunishi, he ran straight into Schwarzer and knocked him off his stride enough to make him miss the catch, shouldn't have been a goal.

If anything all that shows is Schwarzer with his arm in the other guy's back!
The shiny white bit on our right of Fukunishi's head is Schwarzer's glove, not his arm, he wasn't touching him.
If you watch the clip from there you see the Jap bounce right off, Schwarzer falling was slightly overplayed but I guess he was trying to make it more obvious what happened, the collision kills his momentum dead and that's why he didn't get to the ball.

There's no point in moaning, it was a goal because the referee gave it. FACT.

At the same time, there's no point moaning about Japan not getting a penalty, it wasn't a penalty because the ref didn't give it. FACT.

Even though both decisions were wrong, IMO as a referee.

So not having a deserved pen awarded against you, crying about a perfectly good goal, having a guy that should've been sent off getting the winning goal and then gloating about how the match went?

Aye. Typical aussie.

at least we score our own goals, in the heat no less.

Schwarzer said the ref apologised to him five minutes after the incident for not calling a foul...

Not to mention most pundits/ex-players on tv that I've seen have agreed it was indeed a foul. And having seen the incident from god knows how many angles on video/screen capture I concur with them.

Anyway, well done to the Aussies. A draw with Croatia might just be enough but a win will seal it. Beating/drawing with Brazil however, is another thing entirely.

i will laugh my ass off if brazil fail to make it to the next round

remember you heard it here first :D

I hope they don't make it through to the next round. Sure, they've got a huge array of attacking talent, but I despise the way everyone constantly bums them, saying they're this that and the other. The truth is, their goalie is average at best, defence is very shaky putting it politely, attackers are on the whole very good. But they're going into the WC with 2 of the most out of form strikers in Europe in Adriano and Ronaldo.

I rate Argentina much more highly than Brazil. I'd love it if Brazil didn't win tomorrow, purely because the coach was arrogant enough to announce his starting XI for the game a month ago, thus belittling Croatia, who are a pretty decent football team.

i agree 100%

normally i like the brazilian side

but i really hate the way everyone seems to think(them included) that they already won the world cup

i want an unpredictable tournament just like Euro 04

that won't happen as Brazil are in this tournament, they'll win it, England will lose on penalties in the quarter finals, germany will reach the semi-finals or finals. Same crap as always.
