im not much of a footie fan, due to let downs in the previous world cups and preference to rugby, but i always watch the WC.

However ive always thought that Beckham is the most overhyped player, ever. Apart from putting away 1/20 free kicks, he doesnt really do much. Plenty of other players that can do better, we just need someone for the set pieces.

Rooney is a fantastic player, but england doesnt revolve around him.

For me, many rely on beckham/rooney. I think Sven seems to as well. It does more harm than good as the team ends up expecting 2 players to shine and they have no motivation. As soon as they have gone off, everyone else has stepped it up a gear and we are shining!

Beckham has gotten lazy cos he knows hes an automatic call up while Svens been in charge - he has as little right to assume hes got a place as Walcott did. Svens never made him 'work' for it and yes he has got us out of scrapes, but more and more times hes lulled us into trouble by relying on him...

Hes a great captain Ill give him that but he so has run out of ideas and it seems looking at his dead ball shots this WC his right foot...
