World Cup Second Round - England v Ecuador **SPOILERS**

The reason that Hargreaves is playing right back is because Carra was just knocking the ball up field all the time, missing Beckham out of the loop. Beckham is going to look poor if he's hardly given the ball. And do people really think Lennon can do so much more than Beckham? He'll run his little **** off and then put it out of play with no end product. It would be nice to see him and Beckham combine again though.

Hargreaves at RB is pacier and more likely to pass the ball - which has been a big criticism of England so far. Also, as people have pointed out, Beckham is not a Lampard/Gerrard style of tackling midfielder, so Hargreaves is needed as more athletic cover at RB than Carragher (considering Ecuador have fairly pacey wingers).

I'm looking forward to the game today, mainly because Gerrard and Lampard will have the freedom to attack without having to worry about defending too much. Hopefully England will put in a good performance to beat Equador, it's about time they did.

I expect it will be even hotter in that stadium with all those fans.

I would like to see Lennon back on the pitch at some point, thought he played well last time he was on - very quick and good at getting around players.

Where is everyone watching this game? I am watching it on my PJ and 92" screen all by myself:( .. went to the shop a while ago and got seriously hit by hayfever. I am in bad way so I cant leave the house.. What a bummer.. I would have liked to go out to the pub with my mates..

England have looked poor so far and have rode there luck into Round 2. I know they have the ability to do the business but they really need to hit form today. This Ecuador team have impressed me and with most of the starting 11 rested they'll be out to cause an upset.

I see extra time on the horizon.

I just read Ferdinand is off. Looked at the date of the news, it's old!

This should be a good match with a 4-1-4-1 formation which should leave Rooney up front and room for Lampard and Gerrard to break free with long shots. The two should work together to give balls to Rooney with Cole and Beckham crossing them in from the flanks.
