He could be - it could be easily argued that the Ref never actually saw the incident to book him in the first place. Anyway its only Figo - 1 more wheelchair required for the dugout...

Yes he can,they're (the tv pundits) just guessing,all depends on the refs report -that may be a long read tho :)

IIRC they can only issue a ban if the Ref missed the incident. As in the Essien tackly vs Bolton, because the ref saw the incident and gave a yellow for it then they can't overturn the ruling.
 
That ref should not get another game in this world cup. He had no control over the match, if he had taken another tack with the game earlier on he could have prevented a lot of the shenanigans that went on.

as if anyone's going to take seriously a report that this joke of a referee is going to produce - may as well chuck in straight into the bin

If that is why he got the yellow then yes,but i cant see how the ref could have seen it,he had his back to them afaik.he could have got the yellow for the argy-bargy rather than the (girlie) headbutt,in which case they can still do him for it

I dont he ever will be back in control of a FIFA game - no way will they let him back, just dont expect that many cards of a game of this standard...

The ref just started on the wrong foot and gave cards for nothing tackles, he wasnt consistent (he should have given more really looking at what he gave initially)...

Yea, if he's missed it and booked him for something else then he can get suspended
 
Quite a dramatic match that was. I kinda wanted it to be an equalizer, pretty rough too :D. A combination between rugby and football = Rugball :p
 
25 fouls in total in that game, 16 yellow cards and 4 red cards. This is what happens when a ref ruins a game. The players knew he had lost control and were diving all over the place to get others sent off.

I bet FIFA will do nothing as well, cowards....

See I think FIFA do well in the World Cup because it is such a public spectacle - I really think that the refs that have done so poor (Graham Poll !!!) will be asked ever to look after such important games in their career...
