World of Warcraft Cataclysm Thread

Please, feel free to explain how addon's in this case DBM or BigWigs make the game harder or force the player to think more then if they didn't have them.

.....

It's okay :) I don't want to join your raid group.

Sorry mate, but you have no idea what you are talking about.

You go in there and you are not just playing with your time, you are playing with another 24 people time. So one should prepare as much as he/she can.

Counting? Are you serious? Why? Reacting is what you need, for example interrupting Vezzax or Lord Jaraxxus (no addon can do that, and it is on those scenarios when you see if people are focused or not).

Blizzard offers big boss emotes before bosses special abilities, those add ons just inform how long for them to happen.

And as I said, it was not an invitation ...

No Idea what I'm talking about ?

Explain how addon's make raiding anything other then easier ?

I've not said you don't need reactions, I've said that Deadly Boss Mods makes the game easier, and removes the need for thought, you only need to concentrate on your dps / and movements.

I didn't mention anything about wanting to raid with you, where did this come from ?

Does some how, having an addon in a raid, make it harder ? and you have to think more then you would without the addon ?

Reactions are what make good players good in certain situations, there is never an excuse for dieing in a raid in an aoe or failing to move when you have bars flash across your screen telling you to move in 3 2 1.

You do what it tells you to do, I'm sorry if I missed your point about raiders actually not needing mods, and that you just know when to move as a physic ability and you have amazing reactions. Sorry if I missed your point about that.

For example.

Boss does an aoe every 30 seconds, you're told to move out of it. Every two mins casts a big attack that can be interrupted, this appears on a bar, you can interrupt.

Now what about that is hard ?

You repeat your main attack, cast rotation, shot rotation ect ect
You move when the bar gets to almost zero, and you cast interrupt when the other bar is on screen.

Explain, how that is easier without addons ?

Addon's make the game more accessible and easier, I've not said there a bad thing, in fact I have a huge list of them that I use. I just am of the opinion, that raiders or any player that uses them, is making the game easier, it's not a "must" to raid with a addon, it however makes it easier. You could get 25 people to raid without addon's, but it would be harder then with addons, they'd have to think and react much differently compared to having addons.

Tummy, I do not think this will take us anywhere, so I am dropping the subject now.

No, can you not explain to me how raiding is harder with addons ? I've said it's easier.

I'd also like to know why after no mention of raiding with you, you mention that I can't raid with you ?

Quick question, does anyone know if the new guild system is going to be implemented before expansion? I thought it was in the expansion, but someone posted on tankspot that it could be before that.http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14754916&postcount=282

Nope, would think that it's out along side the new expansion pack.
In a big patch just before the expansion though, iirc they did something like this for each expansion, big update patch.

Yeah it was a solid encounter...so many wipes, wasn't disregarding that but more fights were difficult than those 3.

How was they? Heigan dancing with people with a brain was simple and so was just about every other boss in their. 4H was a block boss due to the fact you needed a silly amount of tanks in 5/8 dreadnaught for the increased chance of taunt hitting, otherwise the fight wasn't possible. You then had a frost res encounter right after it (as every guild under the sun killed 4h last).

Dunno about you but my pre tbc guild got rid of people who was carried through MC, BWL and AQ40 when we realised we'd get stuck in naxx otherwise.

Prime example using a more recent encounter, lets look at ignis in uldaur. Such an easy boss when you have an offtank that doesnt fail, a caster which destroys the brittle adds immediately, healers who heal the tanks and **** pot people without failing and dps which stop casting on the flame toss ability.

Now, with a poor group filled with numpties, ignis would gain buffs to damage due to the offtank/brittle caster failing, the dps would slowly die off due to healers failing on **** pot and the dps would be rubbish from people getting spell locked!

Quite easy to go from 1 shotting something whilst watching tv to a full wipe night on it with people failing every time. Vanilla was filled with such players, TBC taught them how to raid properly, wotlk just dumbed them back down again.

It's nice to see that this thread has completely deteriorated and fallen off-topic entirely. Can we please get back to the subject at hand?

So, anyone thinking of rolling a new Worgen or Goblin in Cataclysm, and if so, what race were you going to go for?

I am definitely transferring my NE Druid to a Worgen Druid, but I also might start a new Worgen to experience the content a bit. I have a Warlock at level 23 and always enjoyed playing one, so I may roll a Worgen Warlock to see what it's like in their starting areas. I'm not particularly fussed about Goblins. They have some cool racial abilities, but they look so damn ugly it is unbelievable.

I will probably roll a Goblin and Worgen of some sort to see all the new areas/ quests.

Will possibly change my Undead Priest to Goblin as well depending on what they do to every ones racials.
