Blizzard themselves said wow was so finely tuned that one small change on a dial can have knock on consequences well what do you know they can not even take thier own advice.


Personally i think they messed up by putting this layering crap in, Second was thier utterly poor attempt at reuniting friends by calling it classic but oddly having new server names? They did have a forum reconnect tool but meh i doubt many used it. If you can mess up classic you can see why this current bunch made retail such a bad experience.
 
We’ve been monitoring players’ use of layers, and we agree that we should add a delay between subsequent layer transfers. Under the hood we have all the controls I talked about in the Reddit AMA before launch, a few secret weapons we haven’t discussed publicly, and we’re working on deploying some additional controls to further restrain layering from being exploitable.

However, we also want to assure you that the issue is a much smaller problem than some people are claiming. We’ve been closely monitoring the effect layering is having on economies and other aspects of the game, and many of the stories we see posted are wildly inaccurate. We’ve seen screenshots of banks full of rare crafting materials, which we’ve investigated and proved false.

Another popular theory is that you can determine your current layer by doing a /who in a capital city, and comparing the results against the /who your friend does. That doesn’t work because /who returns results from the entire realm, not just from your layer, and if the result set is too large it truncates the results before sorting them. This means every player gets different results, but those differences in result set have nothing to do with which layer you’re on. This has led some people to claim that they’ve discovered dozens of layers per realm, but that claim is completely false.

All realms have a single-digit number of layers. Most of them have a low single-digit number.

Rest assured that there are not people running around with banks full of (Thorium) Arcane Crystals or Black Lotus.

It'll likely increase when more people (specifically rogues) are level 60. I've passed quite a few ?? alliance players on my travels and so far they've left me alone.
 
There's only one little thing I miss from retail, and that's the extra graveyards. As a warrior I die quite a bit, and having to run all the way across a zone gets a bit tedious.
 

Blizz provably have 4-9 layers then, They say this is blown out of proportion really? I watched a guy on stream farm the arena grand master trinket if he saw red nameplates he swapped layers and he already seemed to have 4-5 in his bag already.


People may not have bags full of black lotus now, But soon they will have a lot farmed people who were 60 have been abusing this before they tweaked any dials. They need to remove it now there is no place for layering it is just a badly thought out server space saving tool that helped people in the know get a leap over other players.

I take it you're not a Nelf warrior? ;) Nice thing as a priest, I hardly die, expecting that will improve over time too. Duo with a warrior works well until they try to pull half the zone!

Yes, I don't even try to compete these days. There are the people that can play 24/7 and the clever exploiters, then the ones with very good programming skills, organised groups of all of the above. I play my own game and enjoy it. I'd love to be leading the charge but I'm not really sure if want to dedicate that much of my life to it. I do find it interesting to see what others come up with, some of it is genuinely clever but sometimes verging on game breaking!

I am only level 24. Some people in my guild are already lvl 60. You get to see who actually have lives now and those that are still hooked! I do not see the point in rushing at the moment anyway as phase 2 will not be out for months and PVP gear wipes the floor with MC and BWL gear.

You hardly die ?

I'm playing Dwarf Priest and i get battered all the time, going OOM constantly. Can u give me some tips ?

I'm level 12 at the moment, found myself in Loch Modan but the mobs are quite high level so i'm moving to another zone.

Most of my freinds have booked time off work, either last week or this week to play and are like level 40. I didn't wanna waste any annual leave, so just taking it slooooow
 
You need to find the best wand you can. For level 13, that's a [Greater Magic Wand]. Mind blast pull mobs with your shield up. Shadow word pain, then just wand the mob down to 0. Make sure you pick up spirit tap and the wand damage talents. :)
