Resubbed in view of the prepatch landing tomorrow, is anyone still actively playing WOW at the moment or planning on coming back for War Within?

All my toons are on Chamber of Aspects Horde or Moonglade Alliance but i see now that you can join guilds cross realm.

Lookin to find a community / guild, dont mind if its not raiding will be happy just havin a social / casual guild for a bit of banter M+ etc.

I played from the start and have dipped in every expansion since, but each one has seen significantly less playtime.
This is the first one I am not even tempted to get and won't be and I can say that confidently.

And to be honest, I think the only reason I had a bit of a buzz for dragonflight was because I built a new PC and hadn't had one for a couple of years. Honestly I wish I could be excited about it but it is what it is. I've had my time with it and I enjoyed it but that was a very different time of my life.

The same for me, played WoW from the very first days and every expansion since and will say I’ve enjoyed each and everyone of those, but I cancelled my sub sometime ago and this will be the first expansion that I miss. As other have said, the game is a massive time sink and I just don’t have the time anymore.

Game died for me after lich king, even then I could have done without. Should have stopped at burning crusade. Cataclysm and pandaria felt like different games for me though I played them casually well after they came out. I was a hardcore raider in the earlier games.

I played this as pretty much my main game (with occasional breaks) until WOTLK, I did enjoy a chunk of Cataclysm but skipped most of it. After that I barely touched the game outside of the odd free trial until Legion, which I genuinely enjoyed in a lot of respects. I was mainly drawn back due to major long term (RTS related) storylines being continued.

I more or less quit afterwards par (again) the odd free trial, the game isn't what it once was and I doubt it'll ever return to form. I gave Shadowlands a shot but it felt like constant busy work, I couldn't get into it at all. Even if it by some miracle things returned to form I don't have the time or patience anymore to engage in the sort of content that I actually enjoyed, which was end game raiding.

It's a shame as I have so many great memories of playing it, I even met some long term friends while playing who I regularly hang out with offline. Crazy to think WoW is 20 years old though, it seems like yesterday that I started my first adventure as an Undead Warrior!

I came back couple week ago to get KSM with a friend who talked me into it but I have absolutely no desire to play WoW anymore, feels weird not being even remotely excited for a expac launch, I've played since TBC and M+ is what made WoW enjoyable for me the last couple expacs but I absolutely hated what they did with it this expac with no seasonal affix + removing and changing them too much

I've been subbed from the beginning (with a few short breaks here and there) but I let my 6 month sub expire at the point that they announced early access for people buying the super-mega-uber-collectors edition. Yeah it's only 3 days this time but if it works, you know what follows: you have to draw a line somewhere!

Just logged on pre patch content new quests ect.. is now available normal flying mounts now use dragon flying vigor system that's fine and dandy but rubbish in a way no vigor means no flying till it recharges. Can't hover and scouting around for herbs / ore old system was better.

theres a toggle on the mount journal you can switch between skyriding (old dragon riding) and steady flight (old flight style with 420% speed now i think

I don't know anything about this new expansion and if they plan on making any significant changes to the overall gameplay, but for me the game has just gotten worse and worse over time. I hate what they did to leveling, questing and exploring. Getting through open world content used to be challenging and rewarding and progression felt like it meant something. These days it plays more like an arpg where you can just dive into packs of mobs in any area of the game, regardless of your level/gear/spec and have no fear of death. The whole game is just mindless and boring now.

I've been playing since release in 2004, mostly on and off nowadays though. I come back for the new expansions, blast for hours on end then get bored. I'm not into raiding or M+ although I have a good guild who I have done some with before. Most stuff is done at night but my days are pretty free so better for me but hard to find a guild to do that. But yeah, I'll be back soon

Nah, not for me. Literally no freaking way I even have a tenth of 1% time I used to have.

This week I managed to watch two episodes for 'Slow Horses' on Apple+ and I'm beyond chuffed with myself for carving out that time.

Saying that though, I fully intend to sub again one day, purely to run through the old content I sunk 1000s of hours into. Some of the happiest gaming memories of my life.

This thread prompted me to look at the old maps again and it stirred some nostalgia. Say what you want about WoW, but it really was something unique. One of the all time greats.

Still (fairly) happy on classic. Cata's nice enough, seems to have turned a bit light on content (in feel at least) for the moment. Works though, can get other stuff done around raid logging.

Played in 2004 and now I’m in my 40s with a family, trying to find the time to justify the sub is next to impossible. Maybe if WOW is still around in another couple of decades I can play lots then when I’m retired.

I've used the pre patch to level all classes up to 70 (had then all at 60 already). I'll probably just end up playing the first season before burning myself out and quitting like normal but it seems pretty good so far. I normally main Warrior but my change it up for the expansion.
