My 10 year old inherited my old pc as its time for him to start to learn how to use them. They only uses Ipads at school, which is a nightmare as has ASD and ADHD, its a screen thing and suffers from emotional distraction if taken away from him. using my Pc on and off is much better as its not a personal 'thing' in his hands.
Anyway...... He tried WoW last year on my sub for a few levels and liked it, he can read very well (he was behind on his reading, writing but on right level now) and understands that there is a lot of reading in the game (spells, quests etc).
Now he has his own pc I installed wow on it and also I re-installed it on mine and we are going to start playing. For now I am just letting him play the free to level 20 to see how he gets on before thinking of re-subbing for myself and him. I clearly need to disable certain chats channels and guild/whispers messages but is there anything else I should consider before letting him play? We will be different rooms so I can't actively see what is happening on his screen.
I just want him to have fun. I will be with him questing together. I think Exiles reach is the best zone for him to start in as it teaches the game in easy to remember steps and I will be in his room with him as he learns initially for that area. Once he is comfortable, he can start any new character he wants later on. I just want him to have fun without any pressure.
Anything else I should do to make his experience a fun one?
