World Of Warcraft

It's boring. Ruined the warcraft IP.

Its a pretty basic MMO, its like those cak ones silkroad etc that are free but you have to pay for it and the graphics are slightly better.

Its addictive but your wasting your time. Eve is a much more fulfilling mmo, even though you spend all your time grinding.

Great game. untill burning crusade came.

get it, get to 60 and ditch it, hardly worth playing it after that as its just repetative week after week.

WoW is a great game and the best of its kind. It's very user friendly and not exactly hard to pick up. The PvP is great fun, especially if you world PVP.

Burning crusade (the expansion) is great and I don't understand why everyone slams it. Leveling from 60-70 is a lot more fun than 1-60.

I slate it for my own good reasons.

The pvp system changed dramatically, after all the hard earned time i invested into getting Warlord gear was wasted, kids could grind the gear within a week of constant play and everyone had the gear. Made my time feel wasted and was very sore about it, same goes for every other player who got to the rank.

40 Man raids were the highlight of the week, not because they were easier/harder but because of the social path it used to create, 40 people who knew each other well having a laugh as well as progressing was great fun.

Gear was balanced and classes were not that overbalanced versus same/other classes, as soon as the next tier of spells came it made many people angry due to the fact some of them were very easy to use, very high critical effects came back and some classes just were simply easier to play.

PVP tactics changed from teqniques that you needed to master to simple button slamming which is what i hate in msot of todays mmorpgs, instead of moving around you can deal very high damage with hardly moving.

Grinding money was easy enough if you knew where to go and Potions/enchants did not cost very much and you could just afford to buy an epic mount by the time you were 60 or a few weeks later, now everything is highly overpriced and you need to loose your soul to afford the higher end mounts.

Guilds started to become very elite about themselves even the smaller ones as soon as they started to progress and because the game became easy younger people started to play.

i could say a lot more why it ended for me and most probably for many other people, it was a great game that turned to the pits. hopefully it will die and a new game will come out that will steal its thunder.

TBC was a disapointment, buff shamans!

No offense, but if you think WoW is the best of its kind, then you really should have played some of the MMOs in the late 90s. In particular, UO during 1997-2001 made WoW look like windows solitaire. It did things 11 years ago that WoW can only dream of doing.

(throw in early EQ1, AC1 and pre-NGE SWG and it rapidly becomes clear how shallow WoW is in terms of MMO depth)

To the OP, sure WoW is worth getting into, generally speaking I find the MMO genre to be much better value for money than any other genre, definately worth playing WoW if you're new to MMOs. At the very least you will get several months enjoyment out of it.

I agree with all of that.

If you've never played an mmo before then get it. But if you have then forget it.

Beware it will consume your life..
