So they're in London this year and it's on from Wednesday 2nd to Sunday 6th.

Coverage is on BBC2/red button. I always look forward to seeing Trotter in the Omnium. And since other nations have been catching up in recent years, I think now is the time to knock them down a peg or two. I suppose most will be trying to peak for Rio but this is at home so hopefully there is a little extra incentive. :)

Track's never been so exciting ;)

Are you guys watching on BBC or Eurosport? Eurosport had the first day, which BBC didn't, but it's hard to compete with Boardman, Hoy, Storey and the behind the scenes sections which the BBC have.

BBC had it on the red button last night with Hoy & Pendleton.

Since I forgot to mention it before, thank **** Edwards isn't presenting. I don't like him at all.

BBC via the website. A great performance by Laura Trott earlier, a nice bonus for Becky Jones getting the bronze despite it looking like she might get boxed in early on and well done to the men's pursuit team for a hard fought silver, the fitness isn't quite there for Ed Clancy just yet but promising signs anyway.

I really believe Trott will go on to become one of the greatest British sportswomen of all time. She already has 2 Olympic golds and 6 world titles at the age of 23. No British woman has ever won 3 Olympic golds and she has potential to surpass that at Rio, Tokyo and beyond. :)

I wasn't too sure about the inclusion of Ed Clancy last night but I guess it means he will be first choice for Rio, injuries permitting. I know he's regarded as the best man 1 in the squad but his start last night was pretty ropey. Hopefully that power will return as he gets back to fitness. Looked like he took a massive turn towards the end to make up for it and completely blew when he peeled off - might not have realised they'd already lost Dibben as he looked to duck into the line quite late and left a gap he never closed.

It will be interesting to see the final makeup of the team. I've definitely got reservations about Cav as man 5 for the TP in the Olympics if he does well in the World's omnium. Personally, I expect to see Dibben get the nod for the omnium and Clancy/Wiggins/Doull/Dibben and one of Burke or Tennant being the five that go to Rio.

I get the impression BC would happily write off our omnium chances to pick up the TP gold.

Isn't she there already?!

Yep, I suppose she already is equal with all the other 2 Olympic gold medal winners.

I was just reading the BBC sport site earlier and Kristina Vogel is actually a policewoman in Germany. She's won her fair share of world/Olympic titles too - I can't believe she's not a full time rider. Apparently she is taking a year off work to prepare for the Olympics though.

Tony Martin was in the police as well, I guess things are a bit different over there!

Did anyone else watch the final day's racing? I only managed to catch the final 40 or so laps of the women's omnium and by that point Laura Trott was already looking pretty comfortable. A pity that Jason Kenny just faded in the keirin but he'd done so well in the sprints. The madison was magnificent though, both Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish performed well, the latter even came off the bike with about a dozen laps to go before remounting and they both held it together. A real shame it's not an Olympic event any more, it's magnificently confusing with so many teams and little races within the wider race and it's all the more exciting for it.
