WORLD WEATHER THREAD

any what do you think we should do?
We have to transition to a clean energy economy and build up our flood defences and other adaptations as soon as possible.

However, we are so far from that due to a lack of political will and mass brainwashing by the fossil fuel industry.

i went there years ago. was beautiful (and i got my PADI there) however buildings and structures can and will be rebuilt, its the human cost which may be high and that is likely to be felt in the poorer areas not those working in the multimillion $ organisations.

live streams here. what surprises me are the people still milling out and about on the streets.

I feel really selfish but part of my inheritance from my grandmother was a share of a pretty large house out in Montego Bay. Really hope it survives as I can't imagine the insurance being much help :(

Not looking good its shifted track and headed to Montego bay direction :(

Yeah, keeping an eye. In the news they said it may well be a Cat3 by the time it gets there but still not ideal.

I should be more concerned with the people, really. Just a bit typical as we were in the process of getting it onto the market!

My youngest was in the eye of the storm for Beryl last year in Jamaica.
They were ordered to put the wardrobe in front of the door and bed/mattress in front of the window.
They were given food and drink to last 24 hours and told not to move.
Halfway through their window got smashed and it scared the poo out of them.

The thing they still talk about was the following day when mainly American and German tourists were ordering staff around like children when some of them hadn't got homes to go to.
"Why isn't the pool open?", "Why haven't you give me a knife and fork?" and so on.
Her and her husband then started to help the staff out of sympathy for a couple of days.
Their kindness was rewarded by their tour company who gave them a £1000 voucher.

Meanwhile in the US there is a shortage of turbine plane engines because AI data centres desperate for generators are now buying turbine plane engines to burn jet fuel to supply power to their data centres

Next Musk might start using rocket engines to run his data centres

I know we make light of these comments, but on this occasion, my thoughts are genuinely with the people affected. This is one hell of a rough ride for them, wishing you all the best and sending you loads of love Jamaica <3
