Worst charcoal

I've got a bag of Tesco charcoal in the shed and it doesn't light either. Actually I think I've bought 2 or 3 bags from Tesco over the years and none of them have worked.
In fact last year we had a roofing torch on it for 20 minutes and it still didn't catch fire??
No idea how thats possible but the stuff seems fireproof.

you gotta learn how to have bbq -.-

Its a special type of coal that takes longer to light up but gives more heat for longer... So as mentioned above use this;

shredded paper > small twigs > wood > charcoal = decent bbq

Or be just like my neighbor... pile in tons of coal... throw in litre of BBQ liquid and then cry why the coal isnt lighting. Then resort to cooking sausages on open flame coming from the flammable liquid.

Tbh when I am not in UK, we just cook on normal wood seems more natural and for some reason gives a better flavor.

It worked out in the end, just had a small window too cook some sausages.

usually i would have boerewors and not pork sausages but what can you do, you have too work with what you is available.

Get one of these chimneys:

Works with poor quality briquettes in my experience.

I will never start a BBQ without my trusty weber chimney. OP, you really need one of these. No pit master is able to successfully BBQ without one of these. From the match to 20mins, you'll have an evenly hot set of coals to evenly distribute.
