You seem to have this topic confused with the best endings.
Ishar: Legends of the Fortress 
me and my brother played for literally days, and the ending what we thought would be the splendour of us saving the fabled fortress, nope, a guy kneeling in a circle, inside some pillars with the camera panning round...and round...and round...if we'd have left it on, for the past 14 years, he'd be still doing it now.
Best RPG ever though

Strider didn't have an ending - just told you that you had been doing a training mission, and the game continued back at the first level. Still, great game anyway.
