Worst forum i've ever seen!!

Something Awful is a fantastic forum (and also terrible at the same time, depending on what parts of it you go into), mainly because egos just aren't tolerated. Everyone gets ripped into there at some point (the HellDump exists purely for showing how much you hate other members/threads/parts of the forum), and it's brilliant for it. YCS is my favourite. Spammy as hell, but there are some bloody gems hidden in there.

I nearly forgot GameFAQs. One of the best sites for help and general information about games, yet with the least helpful, most retarded forum community ever. I don't understand how that even works.
OcUK is the only forum I use on a regular basis... there's a few tech forums I've signed up to and post once in a blue moon... but OcUK is and probably always will be my favourite.
That said, there are a few things that I disagree with... as I'm sure many others do too.
When threads get deleted without any explanation at all... that is something that really annoys me. I want to know what someone did wrong, or what I did wrong so that I wont do it myself or wont do it again.
The locking/deleting of threads for having a picture of a women that is no worse than what you would see if you went out in the summer or went to the beach.
Blatant fanboyism (this is almost any forum you will visit, so not OcUK's fault

Not being able to post where I managed to preorder a video game from out of fear of getting suspended because the same website also sells joysticks/keyboards/mice.
The 'don't even mention that forum' rule that seems to have taken place... I don't know what it is, and don't really want to know.
Oh, and the law on swearing definitely needs reworking. Which words are acceptable and which aren't?
I know the latter is pretty much down to common sense, however I was quite surprised when I found myself suspended for a week a few years ago for using the F-Word they use on Father Ted, a prewatershed show?? I was told that it wasn't a word the Mod felt comfortable with, which is fair enough I guess.

OCUK is good because you always get a reply, not like many other tech forums. You get flamed sometimes but that can be amusing.

People who don't like 4chan don't understand it. That's my theory anyway. Being totally anonymous is the big draw for a lot of people. It means what is shown is without constraint, restraint, hesitation or doubt. This is why you either love 4chan, or you absolutely loathe it.
People who don't like OCuK or rate it average tends to be the ones who have a difficult time 'feeling' the moderation of the place. If you click with them and you go with the flow, it's the best sane forum there is.

Id probably say the forums at a game developers site i go to and mod there are my fav. That or gameboomers, its just perfect there.
Id say ocuk is average, mainly due to lots of useless posts and topics half the time. Rules havent changed i bet from when the forums started to get with the times. I.e sigs and avatars limits and competitor talks. I can understand some of the reasoning behind some of the rules but things like sigs, well broadband is here not 56k dial up anymore and things like competitors blocking is against the free speech laws tho i cant be bothered to really care i mean if someone wants somit they usually shop around online for it with search engines etc. After all were here to find good deals.
The word filter here is annoying for words i use everyday and slang or shortcut words.
The good thing about ocuk forums is its active and plenty to read but half of it is just ppl posting topics because they are bored or at least thats the impression.
The worst forums hmm.. Id say clan type of forums, i've seen ppl at these places just type in captial letters allways and in really weird sentences or lack their of. Its hard to stay at these places. And the clans i know arnt kids either there 30 year olds too. lol.
At the end of the day i always want in a forum, good activity, politness, contributing posts that isnt spammage or filler posts. Grammer to be good but not harsh. Avatars and sig customization is usually top priority as we all like to express our individuality but in moderation i.e not loads of sigs and no huge 500x500 ones lol something elegent like 130x500 max file size dont matter as long as its jpeg.
Just my personal opinions dont take offence if you dont agree with anything said.

Avforums and OcUK. These are the only ones I am a member off. Avforums is probably the best out there for all AV needs and so it should be . They have everything covered. Not as tightly moderated as OcUK but still very good.
People on here and there have helped me out no end with lots of questions and queries. I cant rate you guys high enough..and you both are fun to a bea part of too.

/r/ s for requests. People usually post a jpg/gif from a movie asking what it is/a download for it, or just for a funny picture they saw and can't remember where.
