Worst Game Ending?

It's just so clichéd to end the game with the story unfinished. I'm still burned by the sequels that weren't made - SiN episodes and Advent Rising both burned me

Yeah there is always the risk that the others won't be made. But would you rather they did a Matrix and made one complete game then tacked on two others and called it a trilogy?

Yup, remember Mass Effect is a trilogy, but it closed out the story of that time, and moved on. A similar situation for Assasins creed would be, I guess Altair escaping, getting safe and getting an end to that story, then a new story based on same main character later on in life.

I have no idea and haven't read anything on Mass Effect 2 but I'm expecting it will be same guy in the future when the war picks up big time again.

Bioshock ending sucked, the Stalker first game endings all sucked and I haven't played the second yet.

Most game ending are pretty crap. Though thats probably only because the only games I try to complete are generally really good then it ends fast and is crap

Overall i think going to Half-life zen world

There's a teaser trailer confirming Mass Effect 2.

Oooh - one ending that really did my goat was Far Cry. I had to use a cheat to get through the final level and then I later read that Crytek 'just through something in there' to get the game released on time!

Half-life zen would come a close 2nd on the rubbish final level list. Although HL2 eventually washed the bad taste out of my mouth.

Deus Ex: Invisible War - each ending made it nearly impossible to envision a sequel. The game sucked, but I was hoping it would open the door for a better game the next time round. Fortunately there is (or one can at least hope), however because of the balls up of Invisible War endings they've had to make a prequel to Deus Ex rather than a sequel to Invisible War with Deus Ex 3.

double dragon. you and your brother fight tooth and nail to save the girl and when you both get there...... instead of sharing the spoils you're forced to fight each other to the death.... very sad :(

As much as I love the game, I actually found the Deus Ex ending(s) to be a real flop. I guess they could never hope live up to the epicness of the whole experience though.

Metal gear solid 4

FarCry 2

Tomb raider underworld

Fear 2

In fact i cant remember the last game i played that had a good ending

Halo 2.

When I was at school, I got a right bollocking from my English teacher once for writing a fictional story for my homework and ending it with "and he woke up and it was all a dream". I knew this was crap but the reason I did it was that I simply ran out of paper. If ever there was a case of a game having a similar problem with their budget it would be Bungie and Halo 2.

Fahrenheit for me. Most nonsensical, rushed and disatisfying ending in a game ever IMO.
Medal of Honour Allied Assualt had a very abrupt ending, but since the game up to that point was sheer unadulterated magnificence it compensated the "Oh, by the way, you have finished Medal of Honour" text message. Same can't be said of Fahrenheit though, garbage from 30 mins in to the end.
