Worst game you have played?

I don't think that biggest disappointment and worst game are related, a game could be a real disappointment but still be a very good game for example Mass Effect 3.

Far Cry 2 for me.

Travelling large distances in an undrivable jeep, through many random checkpoints with unlimited guards, and then when you get to your destination your malaria kicks in and you end up like a rohypnol victim on some vagrants sofa taking unknown pills.

Unlimited, respawning guards broke that game for me.

Most of the games mentioned in this list I enjoyed playing, so worst/mediocre gameplay is obviously a very subjective experience.

Quake 4 - Same as Doom 3, but it has outdoors too.
Doom 3 - Really scary monsters who spit chewing gum at you. The shadows were much scarier..
COD MW2 - Single player was more of running towards Saddam Hussain lookey-likeys and not dying from six million bullets and an rpg to my head, Multiplayer was dying because of a single shot to the head from a pistol fired from the otherside of the map, where the bullet had passed through an old concrete factory wall and a magically floated around the corner to my camping spot. As for the nade spam.....

Isn't it purely based on opinion though. If its a total let down to a person, then its going to be up there with the worst games.

Also... add Final Fantasy 14 (original) to my list!

True but generally people see the difference between feeling let down and getting something average, rather than finding it completely terrible.

I do think there can be a bit of a wanting to hate something that's popular mentality at times, either consciously or unconsciously.

Dragon Age Origins.

I just couldn't get how anyone would want to micro-manage 4 characters all the time. It would have been great with just one for me, but I couldn't be bothered to pause the game and tell some bloke to shield bash if enemy strikes with critical chance yadayadayada just because a new unit comes on the screen. One character and a simpler way of managing the others in the group and I would have enjoyed my first proper RPG.

Perhaps I'm too impatient, but for me, it was just a grind.

Perhaps using the word worst was not really the best word to have used, on reflection i think disappointed would have been better.

What game most disappointed you? If I can edit the thread I will change the title.

SWTOR for worst recent game that I played but the all time worst game that always sticks with me as being a total load of sheeb was Tunnel B1 on the PS1 I absolutely hated that game it was awful,

Thief 3 Deadly Shadows...massive let down after the 1st two games and not too keen on what I have seen so far of the remake out soon :(

but as for the worst ever, who can forget this atrocity :D

Snip Epic Video

Don't see the problem, looks like a great game!

Currently playing Bioshock infinite after enjoying the first two, whilst visually stunning the plot does not make sense and its a bit dull, but by no means the worst game ever.

For me the worst game ever would be Prey.

Thief 3?!? That was a very good game, I grant you it's not as good as Thief 2 but it doesn't deserve to be mentioned in this thread.

In recent memory I would nominate Far Cry 2, I would pick out dried out poop marks out of Chewbacca's arse then try and platy this all the way through again.

There are ton LJN games I played on the NES but one game of note from yesteryear is Sega Worldwide Soccer on the Sega Saturn.

GTA IV - the graphics were poor and unoptimised, also the lead character was annoying. Can I play a nice guy instead? I hate being a stereotypical gangster/hoodie/pykie who wants to rise to the top of the gang. How about I play as Michael Douglas and have a Falling Down moment, or Kick-Ass and wander the streets as a vigilante.

Did you actually play the game? :p Niko didn't want to be the leader of no gang, the whole story is based around him going to America for a new life and killing some guy. His cousin on the otherhand wanted to be top dog of Liberty City and got himself in all kinds of trouble in which Niko helped out with.

I would suggest Saints Row 4 for your super hero fix :p Might be a little over the top but its a great laugh :)
