Yeah clearly they haven't thought it through at all. I also love how messages will be sent to peoples parents if they tamper with it (really useful for anyone who is of legal age to drive a car!!111)

The other thing that bugs me slightly is the trends always seem to predict raging successes no matter how little has been pledged (or how unlikely it is given the project, not that the trends look at that)..

As has been mentioned, what if you are a passenger in the car or are on a bus or train?? I suspect this is doomed to fail.

Just use Siri or whatever phone you have to read the text out and then reply via voice command, never have to take your eyes of the road and it actually works if you talk properly.

Mind you so does having a conversation with your passengers, maybe they should be gagged on entering the car, and for 10 minutes afterwards

This is probably a scam. It is possible to set up an account, run something like this, get $250k pledged and paid, and then liquidate your company and disappear with the cash. Been happening on KS quite a bit now.

I can set my Windows phone to driving mode and it does this.

Edit for clarity. It does a similar thing in a different way. You pair a bluetooth device (say in-car bluetooth) then you can set driving mode to ignore texts or calls or both and app notifications are always off when driving mode is on. The phone will enter driving mode automatically when it connects to the paired device and de-activate automatically when it disconnects. It can also be set to auto-respond to either of the ignored functions while active.
