I've always thought that the way to upgrade is when neccessary, PC gaming is so expensive as it is without trying to pre-empt the market and upgrade "in case"Not necessarily slow down. Was just wondering whether my spec in the near future is likely to cause issues with these new, more demanding games.

I always try and compare PC gaming to console gaming (which is probably wrong) but your standard console tends to last 7-8 years and cost £500, why should PC gaming be so much more expensive ?
Is your 3750k overclocked? As others have suggested a used 3770k might be a good shout.I am just curious whether an upgrade is beneficial. The PC is mainly used for gaming.
I have the following;
i5 3570k
Gigabyte Z77-D3H board
GTX 980
16GB DDR3
250GB SSD
I look forward to your replies.
