Worth arguing PCN? - not fully in bay

It says

You MUST park within the markings of a bay

Like how they capitalise the must but its in super low size font on the ticket machine. To be fair given its free from 6pm - 8.30pm, why would i read the rest of the rules? :o

Oh come on, are you seriously arguing you couldnt be expected to know you don't park over two spaces?!

Yeh

If i didn't park how i did then i would have had to of used the hotel car park and paid whatever the rate was. Ny ridiculously long car would not have fit in the space because of a van parked in the bay behind me. It didn't strike me as something that would inconvenience anyone as it was night, parking was free and all the bays were taken up.

I only posted the wording as another poster suggested it could make a difference. Ive sent a nagging appeal anyway. Nothing ventured, nothing gained :)

Incidentally my girlfriend got one today as her permit was left in the glove box. These PCNs come like buses :P

Also my parents had one from a private firm on a hotel car park last week from private eye or someone. They appealed it and have got off as they were at a wedding.

Can tell were in times of austerity, everyone's after a quick buck :P

I've parked the tractor part of my truck in a marked bay before now with the 45ft of trailer clearly not in the bay and not got a ticket.....

I was probably lucky! :D

Just pay it and learn not to park like an inconsiderate twerp. People parking like this really bugs me (and most other people I imagine.)

I'd be a twerp for paying something that I can get off ;-) - I'd prefer the cash to stay in my pocket than to go to the cash cow that is a local council.

Just single lines at the front and back

This was the other car fully parked in his bay, albeit using the maximum :p

There seems to be old markings there too.

You need to look at the extreme ends of the parking section. Individual bays are marked with only a single dotted line, but both ends should be marked with double dotted lines. If they're not, then the parking bays don't comply with the regulations and the ticket is not enforceable.
