Thats three.

Unless you meant the Kef/Audiolab thing as a joke, we know that only the deaf buy kit like that :D

Whats wrong with Audiolab, my Tag Preamp+ Audiolab 8000M's driving my Mission 753 freedoms sounds great.

Unless you mean the new £400 IAG/China/Audiolab's

Yeah, for a second there I forgot two things:

1) There isnt just you and I here...

2) People take my posts seriously...

I've got an EMU 0404, Cambridge Azur 540A and Wharfedale speakers. I basically bought them blind as I wasn't able to get of the house and had never heard any seperates system before. When I first got them I wasn't really astonished although I could tell the difference from onboard sound and some cheap labtech speakers but over time I've really been able to tell the difference in quality.

I'd give you one piece of advice don't listen to reviews go out and listen to different pieces of equipment and trust your ears.

I actually still haven't heard another seperates system apart from my own yet and I've had my system for over a year! My thinks I should go and book a listening.

What Hi-fi do get things right, although they also can be very misleading and often change their mind. One thing that gets me is how certain components seem to get worse. Fair enough newer better things come out, but one month they'll rave about them, the next they'll rubbish them.

Regarding compression, I'll make a post about that soon (need a little more testing) unless it has already been talked about to death.

Well, I ran a blind test on these forums. Results werent too hot on the "being able to tell" front :)
