Worth going from 4000+ SD to X2 4200+

go for it! I have overclocked my 4200+ to 2575mhz from the default clock speed of 2.2ghz on the stock cooling i think the clock speed is just short of what the 5000+ operates at (but not sure).

I upgraded from a 3000+ @ 4000+ speed, to a 4200+ at 5000+ speed, and yes, there was a big jump in CS:S FPS, but it was already about 120fps to begin with so it made no noticeable difference.

I would just wait until you get a new mobo (LGA775 or AM2) rather than buying a dual-core s939.

Totally NOT worth it!

I had a Sandiego 4000+ and it would do 3.2Ghz, ran all games "pretty well"...

Can't see a 4200+ dual core clocking anywhere near that, not sure though...?

Its kinda like changing your dirty pants for some more grubby pants...

but in that you are getting an extra core, which when multi-threading software comes out it will run a lot smoother
