Small patch of rust bubble below window, is this something a smart repairer could fix and any idea how much it would cost?

They may be able to patch it to make it look like is isn't there but it will only come back again unless as CI said for a proper repair it is going to want window removing treating etc then paint

Well the windows are the old pop out style ones so easy to remove, What would be the best course of treatment? I can remove the window my self, i've never done bodywork before but i'm sure sanding it down to bare metal can't be too difficult. what would need to be done after that?

Window shouldn't be an issue as it is an opening rear quarterlight which is an easy removal, and yes a smart repairer could do that no problem complete with rust treatment.

Lot of people commenting clearly not up with the capabilities of smart repairs these days.

If the window pops out easily then a smart repairer would do it, if you want to have a go yourself, back to metal treat with a rust treatment then prime paint and laquer but will need flatting back between coats etc so prob best to get the repairer to do it.

No you need clear the whole panel. You can't just blend the lacquer in the middle of a side panel like that.

Wouldn't need to clear the whole panel as you would loose the difference over the right angle edge of the panel after paint, a good repairer would not need to lacquer whole panel

Lol? So you would keep everything before the right angle edge and then clear upto the edge? You're kidding right?

Would take a lot more skill to spot repair that in such a way that you can't see the repair than it would to just do the whole panel? From the look of the door jamb it has had the quarter painted before too..

Nawww, hell no. I'm ditching this discussion purely on the basis of you not having a clue what you're on about. If you're a smart repairer then God help us all in these dark dire times.

Listen the guy is talking about a small rust patch which you can clearly see is minimal and your going on about re coating a whole requarter? I think maybe a rethink is needed but never mind I will bow to your superior painting knowledge.

Maybe you could do the job for him at a reasonable cost seen as you clearly know what your doing.

It being minimal is irrelevant. From the picture the rust clearly goes upto the edge.

The work area will be upto and include the edge, the primer will go to the edge. The base coat will go beyond the edge. Feel free to take the picture in MSpaint and line out where the primer will go upto, where the basecoat will go upto, where the clear will go upto and then where the fade out thinner will go.

I'm super interested in how you would do it :)
