Would u do it better for £2000ish ?

One thing people havent asked is what monitor and hence resolution hes running.

People are speccing up multiple 275's, multiple ati cards, there really is no need for WOW on any resolution.

Someone with sense (acidhell2) got it right but why need a 910w PSU to run i7 and a single 275gtx ? a corsair 520 modular will do for less than half price.

Was thinking the same thing, but read over what he was asking for and this is what i got from it ''a £2k system, that would last at least 6months, he will be playing WOW for ''now'' and maybe other games in the near future''

*Spec me a system for WOW
or
Spec me a £2000 system?*

i think the system he is handing down to his daughter could handle WOW easily, so i guess he wants a system that could play other games also

Did a base spec for the amount he stated :)
if your going to spend £2k on a system, might aswell go all out....agree? :)

I agree indeed but people are taking shortcuts and speccing huge PSU's that are both too expensive and completely un neccesary, that could be used elsewhere.

Ive specced up an i7 system for me that includes a 22" monitor and a case and it comes below £1350.

Something along lines of

920 I7
Gigabyte UD5 EX58
6GB *insert favorite ram here* PC12800 ram 3x2gb
GTX275
a case *say £150*
Corsair 520HX

all that only comes to £1100. and will run the next series of games for atleast two years. Crysis the exception, but even twin 275 gtx's struggle.

Spot on Ghostnade, i had £2000 and spent £2000 was merely asking if what i choose was the best option and all replies were noted hence my final purchase.

Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 64-Bit
Corsair HX 1000W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply
Sony Optiarc AD-7240S 24x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1.5TB SATA-II 32MB Cache
XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 XTX XXX Edition 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express
XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 XTX XXX Edition 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express
Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600MHz)
Gigabyte GA-EX58-Extreme Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3
Coolermaster V8 CPU Cooler (Socket 940/AM2/LGA775/LGA1366)
Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) clocked to 4.00Ghz
Antec 1200 Twelve Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case
2 x G.Skill Falcon 64GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive in Raid 0

If i want to play something more comp intensive in the future i can instead of thinking i should have got something better. Played my free HAWX last night and boy was it smooth.

Dont u need a decent PSU for crossfire anyway, cause there always the chance of adding another XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 XTX XXX Edition 1024MB GDDR5 in the future then some power is needed.
