About 8 years ago, I asked a checkout girl out in the Sainsburys in Kingston Upon Thames. It was a Saturday afternoon and really busy; I was crapping myself. She said yes.

Just do it :)

Still with her now? ;)

No, it turned out she was a mental, perhaps the Overlord of mentals, which, thinking about it, could be why she accepted a date request from a total stranger.

Still, I encourage the OP to do it anyway. It'll be a life lesson whichever way it turns out ;)

One of my friends picked his current girlfriend up at Asda and they've now been together for about 5 years. She was working part time on the checkout but he had met her before as he's a physio and had treated her a couple of years before. He just asked her out for a drink and she said yes.

This thread has potential to be an epic thread.

Maybe the best approach would be to exchange numbers first. Give her like a piece of paper with your number (maybe a business card if you want to show yourself off as a classy guy.) on it.

Do the "call me" gesture whilst shes looking and you're walking away :P and then go for the kill by smiling like a horny school boy who has a crush on this hot, big breasted cheer leader to show that you're excited. (Who wouldn't eh? you just might get laid tonight, who knows !!!)

When she asks for your money, give her a fiver with your number written on it :)

If shes notices your in, if shes doesnt and puts in the till, Crisis averted!
