Would you bench Pepe Reina?

I think Butland is an outstanding talent and will be Englands number one in the next few years replacing Hart (massively overrated).
Really? From the few supporters who watch Championship teams on here I can't remember any glowing references but I've seen an awful lot of negativity towards him from Birmingham supporters for the mistakes he's made this season.

It will be fantastic when Reina goes and we replace him and don't have a keeper near his quality for years to come.

I'd be interested to know how Reina has cost us 14 points this season according to opta, so the City one is 2 points although do that 99999 times Aguero doesn't score.

Was Spurs away one? So we'd have got a point

Looking at our other draws/losses I can't see where I recall a Reina mistake costing us points

tbh this argument that Aguero wouldn't of scored that goal 9 times out of 10 is wearing a little thin, it's not like it was Grant Holt who scored that goal, if it were you might have a point but it was Aguero who's a top class player and capable of scoring those types of goals

Holt is capable of scoring from there too but like Aguero he wouldn't do it often. No matter who it was, there is a huge element of luck and its not something you would bet on them pulling off. In fact in last seasons CC semi first leg a similar thing happened when Kelly played a poor back pass and Reina rushed out and Aguero missed a much easier chance.

Keep Reina for now but if be keeping an eye out for a replacement unless he seriously ups his game.

Of course there is. He's shot on the turn, off balance and at a ridiculously tight angle. If he puts it a foot or so either side of where he puts it then he misses. Aguero's just trying to put the ball somewhere in that area, it's nigh on impossible for him to properly take aim. Obviously the better you are the more chance you have of hitting the target but there's still a huge element of luck involved.

What if he had caught the ball slightly off and it curled away from goal as most of those types of shot do? Is that unlucky because he's still aiming for the goal.

The ball wasn't blown in by a freak gust of wind...it went where he kicked it. The element of luck involved is 0.

I think I explained what I meant pretty clearly above. He's not aiming at the exact spot of the goal as he wasn't in a position to do so, he's just tried to hit it somewhere in the direction of the goal and given the angle he was faced with it wasn't something you'd fancy him to do very often.

Holt is capable of scoring from there too but like Aguero he wouldn't do it often. No matter who it was, there is a huge element of luck and its not something you would bet on them pulling off.

But there is more chance of someone like Aguero being able to do it though and that's my point. Make a mistake at the highest level and you're more likely to get punished.
