Would you buy a Huawei

Just bought Honor 9X. Specs and price outstanding. Software contracts China versus USA won't change it's capabilities. The next contracts might.
It's a replacement for a Huawei P9, lost at Gatwick. (Anybody ever get reunited with stuff lost at Gatwick?).

Yes, had a p20 pro since launch and a huawei tablet.

Have infact bought my mrs a p30 pro for xmas as i know they're solid phones.

I would not however buy the newer models without google app store until that is resolved. Too much hassle.

Yeah because others don't do it. Not at all.
They literally said not because of that.

No, but not because it's Huawei, I'm just not interested in Android at the moment. I have no issues with Huawei and would buy their networking equipment to use at home. In fact, my Openreach fibre modem is made by Huawei.

have a P20 Pro as does my wife. the phone is great and does everything we want. am i concerned that someone in china might be reading my message? nope... unless I recently joined MI6 or something then I might be slightly concerned. lol

No because their UX is ass. There are only really three trains on Android now in terms of the user experience. The barebones approach that is stock Android (Android One), the slightly more polished approach that is the Google Experience skin (Pixel), and then there's One UI which is Samsung. The latter being the most polished yet and packed with more features than most people will ever need. It's come to the point now that even the likes of LG are copying Samsung having seen how well received it has been.

MIUI, ColorOS and all the other Chinese Android UX skins just aren't as robust and feel a generation behind by comparison to the above.

Had my P20 Pro over a year now and still very happy with it. I agree the UI isn't as intuitive or slick as pure android or Samsungs offerings but running Nova Launcher sorts that out easily enough.

im not a massive phone geek but love my p20 pro ,its great you can get up for work and charge while you have your coffee instead of overnight ,the phone is so solid and just stands out (i have the blue twilight colour) great camera that gets comments about the pictures ,i did the camino walk in spain and the battery life was ideal for the trip (some hostels had no points near beds)also dropped it 6ft onto tilled floor and it survived
no idea about software ,it just all works well

No I wouldn't. Partly because from what I've seen, they won't be able to put out phones that use android and play store. But also because two family members have their phones and I don't like the way they work.

I bought an Honor View 20 not long before all this kicked off, I would 100% get another one. I don't care about the spying, my life isn't exactly exciting and it'd be a boring scroll. The phone is fantastic though.

I have a P30 Pro which I’ve had since just after launch. Superb phone, does everything I need it to do and is a better handset than my previous iPhone was. I missed out on the free Huawei Smartwatch though which some folk got bundled with their handset.

Not too bad though, my P30 came with a free tinfoil hat. You put it on whenever you pick the phone up.

Still a no from me. Nothing to do with the spying though. My wife has the P9 lite and there hasn't been any Android security updates for it since December 2017.

Got a P30 pro as an upgrade from a pixel 2 a month or so back, can't fault it. It's as least as good as any Galaxy i've owned (1, 2, 5 & 7)...the only hard part is the size increase over the Pixel 2. Have to go back to using two hands for some typing. China wants to spy on my inane day to day activities, let them, google been "spying" on me since I had the first Galaxy S1 :)

Also had probably 5/6 updates in the short time i've owned it.

My Honor View 10 has the November security updates and am expecting Android 10 at some point. MIUI I have no issues with especially as use Nova Launcher anyway. I don't care about Chinese spying as Google been at me since day 1.
