Would you buy DDR3?

If I had way to much money, yes.

If I had the money that I have now but no sense (it seems I still have a bit left), yes.

Thing is there is going to be better motherboards coming out that make better use of the DDR3 RAM, and also better DDR3 RAM coming out, so buying now would just be a wastefull investment.

No thanking you as it would require a mobo upgrade on top of the already ridiculous price of the ddr3

That is a big factor if the board you at the moment even supports DDr3 my P5n-e certainly does not, also from what I read the current wave of X38's are arriving with ddr2 support only and no Sli support either only crossfire, all worth realising before upgrading your mobo to the latest and apparently not the greatest!

When Nehalem & AMD DDR3 platform comes out, yep, that'll be the time when it can actually be used anyway. 1600FSB processors will just start coming out next year, which a lot of us have been at for a long time now, and even 2000FSB is no match for DDR2, it'll have to be 2400FSB+ with a great memory controller and a powerful processor before it'll give a bonus.

Gimme Solid State Harddrives first, then we can talk all that other stuff.
