Would you complain or my own fault?

I'd just eat yesterday's dated meal today, and today's dated food tomorrow.

I doubt you'll get food poisoning by going past the date by a day.

I'm not sure what the law is on food listed as out of date food and how the store as to handle it.

The OJ did look a bit off colour but it still tasted good.

Got another three cartons with the same date, I think it gets better with age. :p

"I didn't read the label, but it must be THEIR fault!"
I’m not saying it is their fault but it is poor to leave same day items on the shelf. If you get a home delivery you can get these things replaced but not in store for some reason.

The consensus is I should have been more careful, which I accept.

The receipt shows you bought it at 09:00, it may have been reduced in price later in the day but are you seriously suggesting everything that goes out of date at the end of the day should be reduced first thing in the morning?

Because that’s just ridiculous.

No, I suppose not. I shouldn’t have mentioned discount because I’m not that bothered about it being a little bit cheaper.

"Some reason" being that you didn't choose the item in a delivery, so had no control over what date it was if you were planning to consume it later in the week. In store, you have complete freedom to choose items with suitable dates for your plans or make alternative selections.

Communist? Hilarious nonsense. I'm a business owner / company director.

Nothing to do with M&S food halls. Maybe cook a meal or treat himself to a takeaway.

You have bought a Tesco Indian meal, yes?

It's my experience that most 'Indian' takeaways are actually run by Bangladeshis, who tend to be Muslims and famously don't celebrate the Christian Easter holiday, ergo expect those to be open at the very least.
