Would you get sky if you only had one input?

borrow a neighbours?

Andr3w, try this, it's what I did while I was stuck in the block. I jjust got a 30m coax cable on eBay and ran it out of my window to the communal living room next door, but you could do the same to a neighours room.

Alternatively save the money you'd spend on sky and escape from the block and live out ASAFP.

Whats the difference?

Anytime+ is the true on demand service where programmes are streamed. Whereas Anytime is just whatever programmes Sky push out to your box, and the programmes are simply recorded onto a seperate HDD partition when the box is idle.

I use sky+ HD with a single feed. It's a nuisance but I still get all the HD channels and premium content and use the recording functionality to record things when I'm out.

The trick to timed recording (ie- when you're out) with a single feed sky+ box is to look on the planner and go through the motions of setting a program to record, that starts prior to the one that you actually want recording - but make sure it is still on when the wanted one starts. You then set the program you want to record as well.
You will find that the first recording fails but the one you wanted doesn't

so...
set to record prog1 @ start time 19:50 - 20:30 <--- this one will fail
set to record prog2 @ start time 20:00 - 21:00 <--- this one will work

Once this has been done a couple of times it becomes second nature. Even this missus can do it!

But you only need do this with existing Plus boxes. Anyone putting in a recording box is going to get a HD box now. They have"Single Feed Mode". This means no need for false recordings. That is Andr3w's situation.

I used it for a while, bit of a pain but still works. Now I'm in a fancy block with two inputs :p

Now would rather use other means to watch TV, so cancelled my sky to save some cash.
