If companies would write drivers more for Linux like they do for Windows I would switch to Linux full time.
I don't really like the layouts in OSX and would rather use Windows

If I went to Uni I'd probably consider grabbing a Macbook and therefore using OSX. However for any other purpose I normally stick with Windows. Generally, everything works in it well.

I always love walking into the library, there is always one table of mac users, all looking like clone with their white macbooks. I wonder how often they take their friends one home by mistake!:p

I would try it (in fact I have, but couldn't get it to work properly) but TBH it has nothing over vista, the main argument seems to be stability, and when considering my vista machine has crashed once in 3(?) years i don't see that as an issue.

OSX is a very niche product, seen to be good at creative stuff so you end up with some film, photographers and designers using them instead of windows> For a non design environment (and some of the design environment) windows is the better option atm.

Wouldn't touch OSX with a big stick.

Especially from the point of having it as a works PC on a corporate network. It has some nice features but not enough to make me look twice.

Considering it is a product built on it's own hardware it still has faults and still crashes. It still has to be reinstalled and some of the ways you work with it are not as intuative as windows (drag and drop being one).

I love the flexability windows gives me. I can install millions of applications, games, etc and if I have a problem you can pretty much guarantee there will be a patch or fix for it. The only system crashes I have had have been hardware related.

Horses for courses, I use OS X for my work life, I use Windows for my gaming life, no comparison between the two. Use what's easiest for a particular job, I for one love both OS' and arguing over them seems very daft.

i think i would have to try it properly, only ever messed around on mates, funny cos we have similar disccusions im all pc hes all mac!!
i agree osx is way over priced and macs hardware is well over priced too.

OSX is not overpriced, Windows and OSX are very similarly priced. The hardware is what people are willing to pay, fair play, if someone has the time and knowledge to buy the parts separate and built it themselves then good on them :) I have a self built PC and an imac, love them both for completely different reasons.
