Would you own and drive a H1 Hummer

No, rubbish offroad, drink petrol, slow, bad round corners, ugly exterior, typical plasticy american interior, and almost exclusively driven by inadequate guys compensation for lack of ****.

Since when has a H1 been gash offroad? News to me, H2 yes H1 nope.

I'd have one in the USA they work on the wider roads, uk, nope.

I think a lot of people are confusing the original H1 which is used my the US military and the H2's and H3's which are used by gangster wannabees.

The H1 is very good but totally unsuitable for our roads but id like to have play with one off road ....id never be seen dead in the others though.

The H1 is the original, military one yes ? If so, I wouldn't object, if I went offroad. I'd prefer a Defender though personally.

Wouldn't choose to drive one on roads as a) they're probably awful on road b) they're way too wide.

If I was silly rich and i'd consider buying one and going to San Fransisco to recreate the scene from The Rock :p

The recent ones - not a chance.

To all the people saying they're rubbish off road, aren't they supposed to be one of the best ? I believe they hold the record for climbing inclines, they have huge ground clearance etc

Nah not a chance...butt ugly (like 99% of 4x4s / SUVs imho), crap handling, poorly finished, brash American mince...

You couldn't help but feel conspicuous driving such a vehicle, especially when you (inevitably) get it stuck somewhere and a huge queue begins to form behind you.

Multi storey carparks, drive throughs and similar will be completely off limits.

I'd drive one for a day and it would be awesome fun. Then I'd give it back :).

I hate every single thing about them.

^^^ This

I drive one nearly every other weekend and I have never hated getting into a vehicle as much as I do a hummer. Mind you the 2 I drive are stretched :)

Typical oversized american BS.

Absolutely would. What's not to like about driving a 400hp 3000kg truck?

I see them relatively often (compared to here) when driving around Detroit, and they look massive even on US roads. I prefer the H2 to the H1. Will probably hire a H2 at some point in the near future to see how that is.

Just so people are clear, we are talking about this, as people still seem to think it's the H2 :s

It's probably well put together in that it's a miliary tool, and why would it need to look good, it's made to stick big guns and missile launchers on the back.

The H2 is made as a civillian vehicle and is utter junk. A guy near me has a H2 in black with flames on the side and 22" wheels. It looks like something a 5 year old matchbox or hotwheels afficionado would appreciate.

I couldnt bring myself to drive one, I'd feel like an absolute ****. And rightly so tbh, no need for them at all, we're not fighting wars...

They look awesome in films when they are being shot at and driving over other vehicles. In any other situation, they are ugly, disgusting ****mobiles.

Hell no. I have enough problems where I live parking a small hatchback, let alone a monster like that. If my circumstances changed, and I had money to burn it'd probably be a laugh for a bit.
