Would you own and drive a H1 Hummer

No I wouldn't, awful, brash, nasty, tacky, Yanky tonka toy crud in my opinion. I'd go with the gentleman’s choice, a Range Rover :) ...albeit with a supercharged V8 mind.

Awesome. You need an intercom to speak to the passenger! :p

There's pretty much no other vehicle in the same class as the H1.

I can't think of a single scenario that would mean that I'd prefer to be driving a H1, even if it was the military version. In a city they're clearly totally unsuited, and if it was for offroading, I'd have to take a Range Rover.
The only close time I guess would be if it was actually part of a military mission off road, in which case something like an M2 Bradley, or M1 Abrams would be a little more appropriate.

Yes definitely they rock. Hate people who hate SUV's in general and they always seem to vent their anger at the hummer. The car is like a big middle finger to any tree huggers and just shows ''I can afford to run this with my hard earned money so **** off'' to everyone. Though I prefer other SUV's ( range rover sport), but the hummer looks nice and is a big slap in the face for environmentalists.

EDIT: Like others said Dodge ram SRT 10 > Hummer :). Would absolutely love to drive the RAM SRT 10.

Oh when I knocked the Hummer and called it crap, I wasn't knocking trucks and SUV's at all, just the Hummer. The child in me finds the idea or the Dodge Ram SRT10 hugely appealing :D ..and I love Range Rovers ….especially the Overfinch variety, and have had a BMW X5 in the family as a caravan hauling, dog carrying, Ikea visiting work-horse since they were launched, just got a new one actually with the twin turbo diesel to replace the tired old 175k miler, all of which was put on by my Dad and his wife from new, it still worked fine but things were starting to go wrong and it was getting very expensive to keep going, it's had a hard life though, not an easy 175k sat on a motorway crusing, more like hauling caravans up hills and worse. I haven't driven it myself but apparently the new one feels very fresh and pulls like a train compared to the old one.

I thought the H1 was just the military vehicle modded to go on road, as such it's totally to utilitarian in all aspects..

The H2 Hummer I would have said no, but I parked next to one on a family day out,

And if I won the lottery, I dare say I'd entertain one on the fleet... it was quite imposing, loud, brash, etc, err, what does that say about me?

That look awsome:D

Id loive the military oine but they are can really only be had by luck due to certain laws:(

Hell yes. If it is good enough for Arnie it is good enough for me!

But only if I had many other cars, it just would be a pain to drive around here in my little village.

But if I lived in LA...

Thats wide!

The only other vehicle I know with a cab that wide is either an HGV or a coach!

I'd rather a Scania Tractor unit than an H1, Even H1 drivers give way to trucks..... :D
