Would you pay 19k for this???

You wouldn't get noticed driving a Focus RS, Evo8, GolfGTI or Scooby along the Monaco strip, in a ClioV6 you would, it fits in with Bentleys, Aston's, Rari's & Porky's, that's what makes it so special.
Id say your just as likely to get noticed driving a Focus RS as one of these clios.

And when someone notices you they will go "poor poofter, couldnt afford a nice car so he just stuck some tat on a clio"

Wrong. To most people, a Focus RS looks like any other Focus. The 'Vee' however looks nothing like any other Clio.

Hahahahaha yeah ok then :D

I wonder if anyone has ever turbocharged one...

Imagine a 400bhp, rear wheel drive, mid engined Clio. I'm not a fan of Clios but that would really be something!

Someone on Cliosport has a supercharged one, and my mechanic has a mk1 running nitrous :)

i wouldnt look twice at any clio along the monaco strip, it does not sit in the special area along with those top marques that you mention.

the focus rs is a poor analogy tbh, its so tame in its look compared to other RS's.

As for the 'vee' not looking like a clio, it looks every bit like a clio, just one with a widearch kit. the basic shape and lines are still the same.

So if you saw a Renault 5 there you won't look twice either?

It's not trying to be one though, but it's often called one because they're pretty special cars.

The V6 is the modern equivilent of the Turbo 2. That was its reason for being built - it was a modern look at Renault Sports history, by taking the midmounted RWD approach to their current small car. With that in mind, and the limited numbers of them made, they're bought by enthusiasts that generally don't put them on the road which makes them even rarer, and as such gives them even more road presence.

The Clio V6 isn't just about the engine and car. It's about a manufacturer saying "up yours" to what they know will sell, and them building a car which they want to build, regardless. Not many manufacturers do that which is why imho they rank up there as being something that bit special.

Love it :D

Renault may not be considered a top marque when you compare them to Ferrari, Lambo, Aston, etc....but they have got a motorsport pedigree and hertiage to rival all of them, which would earn the V6 respect on Monaco streets. They get kudos from me for thinking outside the box....Espace F1 anyone? and they have won Lemans. I dont look twice at a Focus RS cost at the end of the day thats all it is....a Focus with a powerful engine. The V6 Clio is a totally re-engineered car that shares parts with a standard clio, and I will always take a second look at one when I pass it.

But 19k is a bit much....but you dont see many black V6's and you get one hell of a driving experience for your money with them.

I thought it was the French hearing a rumour about a Lupo 3ltr and building a competitor, before realising that the Lupo was a 100km on 3ltr of fuel?

Have to admit to having a LOT of respect for the old 5 turbo 2s. I seem to remember that they used to run 300-400hp in race trim without too many problems. That would certainly put it in Ferrari territory for acceleration.

Why do you not like V6 engines, minidan?

i just dont see much point, they sound nice iw il give you that, but for example look at vauxhalls, calibras and cavaliers mostley, choice of 2.0l turbo or the 2.5 (? ) V6, the turbo makes more power as standard iirc and has MASSIVE tuning potential that the V6 doesent and waighs less, and then theres fuel consumption i know the LET can do well on fuel when you can ceep your foot off the peddel (my mate had an astra gsi with LET conversion)
maybee there are advantages that i am missing? but i dont really understand the point of them atm tbh lol. straight 6 i like ala skyline and supra i love 'em, but dont see any V6s making that power dont know why tho?

just my thoughts.
