doesnt this happen in the count of monte cristo? ( film )
Having gone 7 days completely without food twice before I can safely say I'd rather starve to death. You lose the feeling of hunger after a few days and I guess you'd just get weaker and then die, but with gorging yourself to death there would be a lot of pain I'd imagine as you ripped your stomach etc and bled internally.
edit: and I thought Se7en at first, instead of Oldboy.
You would die in crippling agony.
has the OP just watched oldboy?

Scenario: you have been kidnapped by some type of psycho and put in a completely empty prison cell with no windows or anything. You are going to stay there the rest of your life. There is only one rule: you can have what ever food you wish but nothing else, no human interaction, books, nothing except food.
There is only one way to escape this prison and that is death, and only two ways to kill yourself: organ failure through starvation or organ failure through morbid obesity.
Which would you choose?
Cake or Death?
Starvation is not that bad...
