Would you rather starve to death or gorge yourself to death?

You would never starve yourself to death, after a few days, you would eat. The reality of the situation is you are unlikely to do either, but more likely to eat excessively for several decades.

So eat. At least you'll feel "happy"
 
Starvation is not that bad, it is almost impossible to kill yourself through eating and it would be a terrible ordeal.

Actually it would take you weeks to starve to death, You would die from thirst quicker. When your body lacks any intake of nourishment it begins to slowly devour itself, liquifying its organs and muscles. You would die in crippling agony.

Am I the only one who first thought that Simpsons episode where Homer is forced to eat ALL THE DOUGHNUTS IN THE WORLD! and succeeds lol.

I think I would try to eat normally and just hold on to some hope for me and my invisible friend who I would not invent but would be forced to live with me by the captor as well.

I think I will name my friend Wilson.

EDIT: All the people saying try and outlive your captor, wouldn't your captor be your best chance of escape? as in if he/she dies then you're stuffed and no one will ever visit you anymore?

I would starve myself for a few days then kill and eat my captor, then pile up his bones wait 24 hours and dump on them whilst laughing like a mad man
 
I would eat enough to stay healthy and hope my sanity lasted until rescued.

Plus I'd make him spend an absolute fortune in Dominos pizza, so hopefully he'd run out of cash and let me go! :D
