Would you spend 80 notes on this.

I've spent about £40 on a t-shirt, which would be my absolute maximum (and tbh is all I can see that t-shirt to be worth).

I used to regularly spend £20-£25 on FCUK etc t-shirts but I don't bother much now. Tend to buy the odd 'designer' top and go for nice Next/Topman/Burtons jeans/jackets.

You get so protective of zip up jackets and stuff when they cost £70+ so I just don't bother anymore.

(edit: I would pay £80 for a very nice shirt though, similar for trousers. Well worth it - you can tell quality gear apart from high street stuff.)

gold chains and a burberry cap and your set to go... £8 or £80, its still adidas
Well bloody said. For £80 I can get two pairs of jeans and four shirts from Affleck's Palace.

Sod that shiny thing for £80, silly waste of money.

Not my cup of Ceylon.

My thoughts exactly.

I personally will pay more for a none branded item which is of higher quality. I refuse to be a walking billboard.

I find that a none branded shirt from M&S for £40 is the same/better quality than a designer shirt at double the price.

I've got a lot of foreign designer label shirts (some Italian, some Scandanavian) when I've got from TK Maxx or people have brought back for me and they wee all over Next etc stuff, even if the Next ones are nice. I don't like being a billboard either.

Personally I'd find £80 a bit of a stretch for a T-shirt (£45-50, maybe), but especially for an Adidas one. At the end of the day whilst it may be a quality garment, well made and using good materials, most people will look at it, see the brand, and wouldn't recognise it as being any better or 'classier' than the usual much cheaper Adidas range...

It's about £65 over my budget for any one shirt at a time.

Agreed.

Plus, I'd just like to add, with that specific logo on the top right pocket, it'll just make you look like every other chav out there.

The cost of production is just about the least important factor in an item's price. Oil costs about $5 a barrel to extract but is sold for $70, why do you think that is?
tax mainly but clothing is 17.5%

EDIT actually that is before tax ....stupid oil

Personally that wouldn't be my cup of tea, although I don't think it's particularily ugly. It's expensive because of the silk, and from the pictures looks like it has quite a nice cut. Definitely not the same as you average "white polo" from a bargain bin, although it's probably easy to make the mistake from just the picture.

I've personally not speant more than about £30 on a T and £50 on a polo, but that's cause I'm a student, but I am quite interested in clothes in general (how gay ;) ). Hopefully when I have the money when I'm older I'll be able to sample some of the more fancy stuff. :) A few years ago I would have laughed at expensive items of clothing and dismissed them as hilariously over priced and unnecessary. In some cases this is still true, but when you actually look at some of the expensive stuff you realise how good it is.

Oil is different to T-Shirts. Oil is a scarcity economy with a lot of politics surrounding it. T-Shirts are costly because of corporate greed and excessive branding.

Spend £80 on that, not on your life! I was feeling bad justifying spending £40 on a good quality well fitting tailored blouse. Thinking to myself it's a lot of money just for a cotton shirt, but it's just about the only type of shirt I can buy that will fit me everywhere.

Honestly I think it's a waste of money. Doesn't look that nice (although that kind of t-shirt I don't think is that nice on guys anyway) and you are paying for prestige (although that seems a bit odd as it is only adidas!). You could find something far nicer for the money and have change.

no, id pay £30 for the girl tshirt though.

the first one is the sort of top which is not a smart going out tshirt but not a doss around tshirt either. The black one I would wear on a night out because i think it looks good but not the white one
