I'm back baby!
Scenario:

Your grandfather has been ill a long time, your grandmother died about 1.5 years ago. Your grandfather is in hospital on the stroke ward having had multiple strokes and a heart attack some weeks back.

Your parents go away on the 3rd of July.

Your grandfather dies on the 3rd of July.

I think I already know the answer. I just need to get it clear in my head.

I wish he'd been well enough to see my brother get married. I believe he may even be the last of his regiment (brigade? whatever) of Desert Rats.

RIP Grandad.

Sorry to hear that mate, RIP :(

As for the question, that's a real toughie, but i think it's best to let them know what's happened.

Oh man, sorry to hear that dude :(

I would have to tell them though even though its going to be mega hard, it is one of their parents after all :(

Chin up if you can dude.

R.I.P. Gilly's Grandad

Definitely & sorry for your loss mate:(

Edit: Would you want to miss one of your parents funerals due to a holiday? No...

Well, if you tell them, their holiday is ruined... if you don't, your relationship could be ruined......

Tough, but consider the above.

EDIT - Forgot the obvious RIP :(

Sorry to hear that Gilly. :(

I do it as soon as possible, get it out the way.

My condolences, RIP :(

As for the question; although it would be very difficult, I think I'd have to tell my parents when they got back from holiday, although at the end of the day it's your call.

First of all, sorry to hear of your loss mate.

I think you need to tell them.

It would be worse to come back from their holiday to find out whilst they've been out having fun, your Grandad passed away the day they left. They'll feel guilty.

R.I.P :(
